Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2012 Part II: (Insert Title Here)

Today is 23 May 2012. There are 136 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 6 October for the start of next season.

That is the day that an exhibition game is supposedly scheduled.

I am surprised that Pat Koudys wasn't drafted in the USHL unless someone already has his rights. Obviously, he could be headed back to Tier-II in Canada.

It was always a matter of logistics - the game played at Fenway was one of Harvard's two "Beanpot helper" games, in which a scheduled league game that would normally be on the Saturdays before the first and second Mondays of February are moved to an earlier part of the year so that the Crimson can play in the Beanpot with only one game in the previous weekend. This year one of them happened to be Union.

I think Servinis was referring to last year's game... ...unless Union's giving up a home game on January 22nd to play at Fenway.

EDIT: It fit last year as well; February 11th WOULD have been Union at Harvard.

Yep, it could have easily been RPI/Harvard at Fenway if the schedule had just been reversed last season... I have my fingers crossed if the Winter Classic makes it to Yankee Stadium in the near future, that RPI can somehow find its way onto the event schedule. Perhaps move the BU/Cornell game outside and have the rumored BC/RPI game prior to it? Not quite sure what other games would be a good draw outside at the stadium.

Congrats to Nick Bailen who, according to today's T/U, joins two other RPI STUDENT athletes named to something called the "Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Teams" Horrible award name, hard earned accomplishment. Well done !

For those who dont check out the recruit thread often, I posted a link to a Troy Record article published today about next seasons recruits. Quotes from Coach Appert and a quick summary of each player possibly coming in.

I note that Hockey East is looking to hire a full-time director of officiating.

Is Paul Stewart full-time or part-time for the ECAC?
