The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I’m optimistic but I always pause when reading claims about improved recruiting. I’ve heard similar claims about great recruits too many times over the past 20 years that mostly didn’t pan out.
Agree that performance of the team on the ice is improving.
I heard all the perfunctory compliments but the clear implication was he was upset that his vastly superior team got taken to overtime by an inferior opponent.
Humility? I have the opposite view. Saying that your team could only get a garbage win by one goal, and in overtime at that, is denigrating your opponent. To do it publicly demonstrates arrogance and a lack of class. Those comments should have been confined to the locker room.
I hope you’re right. I was at both games and thought we were outplayed by a wide margin overall both nights but especially Friday. The big difference on Saturday was in limiting the opponent’s shots. And our powerplay and penalty kill are really bad right now. The Sitar and Rullers goals were...
The seating and seat spacing are the most comfortable in college hockey and better than any pro arena. Don’t replace it with those small crappy plastic seats designed for people less than 6’ tall.
I regret raising this issue on this forum. And I regret even more asking the question about the legality. It was misplaced sarcasm since there clearly is no legal basis for actions meant to intimidate Harvard, and others including non-Ivies, due to ideologic differences.
Yesterday, the administration in Washington, DC revoked the ability of Harvard to accept foreign students and keep those already enrolled. If the courts allow that to stay in place or the administration continues to defy the courts, Harvard, and other universities in the crosshairs, may lose...
I agree with most of this but mostly absent from the discussion is the Titanic change in D1 caused by the start of direct, and indirect, pay-for-play. I realize that most of the direct money will go to men’s (American) football and basketball and possibly women’s basketball but I suspect that...
All this speculation about an announcement today assumes that there are no negotiations over the contract terms and the chosen candidate doesn't require time to discuss with his family. I know I never accepted a job that required relocation before discussing with my family. Employers generally...
Having seen all of their games except 2 in person since Covid and approximately 95% of their games over the last 30, I disagree. Away wins at Clarkson, Yale, Brown, and Dartmouth and a very close loss at Qpac proved otherwise. Although those were not really good teams, most showed they were...
No joke. I’ve attended (in person) every Freakout for about 30 years and I’ve been watching RPI games in person since 1970 so I don’t know how the crowd noise comes across on the TV broadcasts. Crowd noise is not that loud, considering there are 4,500 people in the seats, half of whom attend one...
Game atmosphere is overrated. I’ll cite Colgate’s success on the ice and their
Freakout is nearly sold out and there’s still no atmosphere. Fans just sit and watch until there’s a goal. Attempts to start coordinated cheers (Go Red, Go White; Let’s Go Red!) fail.
I like the idea of reducing...
