The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Your ride home was probably more exciting than the game. At least MS7 wasn't in the backseat offering his driving tips.
Apparently, e.scat is envious of Potty's dubious reputation and is angling for the limelight.
I gave up my season tickets three years back. At first, I would watch on TV, and eventually that became too frustrating. Now I'll occasionally check scores on the USCHO app. It's amazing how much my winters have opened up, and how much enjoyment I find in doing other things, rather than watching...
In theory, but most teams are into conference play at this point, so scheduling a meaningful OOC opponent becomes more difficult. Bottom line, all this time off is not ideal.
I didn't say they chose it; I was responding to your "need the rest of the bye week" comment, which I disagree with. And yes, Hockey East does the conference scheduling.
Do they really need more time off? They just had a 2+ week respite and should be more than ready to go. To me, another two weeks of rest is not a good thing. Possibly the Hockey East schedulers were trying to delay UNH's inevitable second-half swoon for MS7?
They list him as a "5th line" center, and he doesn't look like he's been given much ice time. At any rate, on to the championship game tomorrow. This team has surprised, especially since the top college hockey talent is currently playing in the World Juniors.
I have to agree with Potty on this one. Except for the hiring of a "legendary" coach (who would that even be right now, as far as active coaches are concerned?), a new coach alone isn't enough to turn the tide. Facilities are and will continue to be an important part of the recruiting package...
Sure, college hockey is a niche sport, but it garners way more interest than the 50-yard dash or hurling a discus. But again, thanks for sending what's-her-name down.
