The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I wouldn't be surprised to see nearly every prominent college hockey coach vie for a Big 10 job, as early as next season, Barr included. That's where the money is, and it's becoming all about the money across the board.
The hand-writing is on the wall. NIL will render the smaller money programs...
It'll probably be that way EVERY year. for most teams.
Hell, as was mentioned above, "Michigan" won an NC last night without a single Michigan recruit on the floor... Only NIL paid-to-play transfers.
Might signal the end of programs like Maine (or anyone in Hockey East) winning Jack Shit. And...
(I would like to employ that expression in my future posts, if it isn't your copyrighted intellectual property. My people will contact your people.)
But it'll be interesting to see how many MC guys go D-3, and what sort of impact they might have.
Certainly there have been a number of...
Yup.
And, again, if those bad losses to UHN and UVM had been wins, Maine would've been dancing this year, and this thread would've had a better tone, or at least a different thing to complain about.
(As in, griping about being sited in Sioux Falls. ;) )
I think it's likely that just about all of Mercyhurst's guys -should they opt to transfer- will end-up in D-3. I don't envision much of any interest from any D-1 teams outside of *maybe* a couple in the AHA. Mercyhurst was a bad team in a bad conference.
Marques fell far short of expectations. He was a cruiser, not a battler. I won't miss him.
Poirer and Lupinski will be sorely missed if they depart. Those two showed up for every game. JP has been the most talented 2-way guy Maine has had for years.
I wish that Josh had hung around, he was...
I didn't see what happened to create that instant odd-man (obstructed view), but you nailed it, Drafty.
On replay, the Hobart guy had to wait a second too long to jump the boards, and he was already a couple of strides behind the play at that point.
Might have been the only telling D mistake...
You guys are far funnier than expected, nice work!
And, to conclude my season here, take my advice and don't marry a hot Czech girl under ANY circumstances. They are nothing but trouble, in the long run.
(I wouldn't be the official asshole of this site if I didn't say this much:)
We sat in the top row of Section 101. Should have been good seats, but that area and 102 were -for some reason- completely infested with Hobart kids.
We had no problem with their general enthusiasm, their chants...
We saw an extremely handsome 45/50-ish guy at the game today, on the concourse, wearing a classic Colgate hoodie.
I had to physically restrain The Warden from jumping his bones, (She does that sort of thing frequently),
Was that guy, you, Shabby?
This is one time I'm happy to be wrong. The atmosphere was terrific on Friday, and many more Utica fans than I expected to show up, showed up.
It's all good. I expect the place to be electric tomorrow. I'm actually excited to go (especially for an easy 3 PM game) even though I don't exactly...
That's hard to say, but I'm guessing that many UU fans will show up for the local flavor, alone. There were many Utica old-timers at the HC/Aurora game, somewhat to my surprise.
I, (perhaps stupidly), shelled out $240 for the weekend before Stout bounced Utica, but I'm glad I did it at this...
(OK, ignoring the uninvited trolls from here on out.)
Game One today was a good one. Much closer than the final score would seem to indicate. Aurora owned the 3rd, even as HC seemed to have a comfortable lead going into that frame. It became a nail-biter when AU drew within 1 with maybe 11...

Ironically, you "liked" a post from Shabby that was clearly directed at little boys such as yourself who employ the elementary-school-level word "dickbrain". Maybe YOU need to put the bottle down, you think?
"Dickbrain"? How old are you, in terms of emotional age? 7? You seem to be channeling the orange shitstain in that regard.
Go back to regurgitating box-scores in longhand as a "writer". You sucked at that, and you suck as a poster.
(No offense intended.)
