The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
A very obscure question. I have been going to the Frozen Four for nearly 3 decades and used to see a group of gentlemen (5 I believe) that had NMU gear and pins saying Al, or You can call me Al, or similar. Does anyone know if they still go or are present at the NMU games? I haven't seen them...
So, why is Alex Carr different? He didn't apply for a waiver and is a sophomore this upcoming season and is already 22. He didn't play USports. Anyways, it doesn't matter I'll take him for a year if that's the case, since we grabbed another good goalie and have two potential younger ones to...
I understand that, but he was only 20 when his last year in the OHL started, so he shouldn't lose that year. He then had his AHL/ECHL year, then ECHL/Providence year, so he should have 2.
Possibly at least partly true. Though, I saw him pass up plenty of opportunities and if you look at his playing time early in the season, he played over 20 minutes in 2 of the first 3 games. His ice time went down because he didn't perform. I know, small sample size of 20 minutes plus, but I...
Not to burst any bubble, but I saw the video of all of Sam Oliver's goals too... that translated to 2 in the NCAA. Granted, he is smaller, but he was a non-factor all season.
We currently have a goalie coach, Sean Maguire, played for BU.
Since we are throwing names out there, a friend of mine reminded me, Kevin Dean has a ton of coaching experience, currently an Assistant Coach in Vancouver. Liam Blackburn is Director of Scouting/Associate Coach in the BCHL. James...
I'd like to see Newcombe up there. To me, he has been creating a lot of chances and doesn't mind driving to the net, not afraid to get in all the dirty areas.
I remember the Mitrovic and Amodeo days. Yes, Lavins is special, thank you St. Cloud, for wanting him to play another year of juniors. Anyways, this team should have plenty of talent and goal scoring, game 1 out in East Lansing was an absolutely incredible effort from the top line to the...
I never said he couldn't score. He has an NHL caliber shot, he just doesn't have any interest in playing an all around game. I have also witnessed a fair amount of his shots get blocked and turned into an odd man rush because he HAD to shoot the puck. Personally, I think we miss Marty Lavins...
Good luck with Conmy. You are seeing what most of us that watch UNH all the time already knew. He is a one dimensional player, only wants to shoot. He has two "moves," a one-timer or drive to the middle of the ice. He has no interest in going into corners or getting back on defense.
