BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Since they went to a 1-game opening round after COVID? No. Since they went to byes for the Top 4 (or 5) in 2014, and the rest play in the Opening Round? Yes. In 2014, the 1st round was a single game, and BU was a #9 seed that lost to #8 Notre Lame 3-2. In 2016, BU was a #5 seed and swept #12...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

From my Weekly Stats Email: Snipers Wanted Dillan Bentley is now up to 13 goals on the season. Lowell has not had a player score 15 or more goals in a season since Andre Lee potted 16 in 2021-22. They haven't had a 20-goal scorer since 2016-17, when C.J. Smith lit the lamp 23 times. 2016-17 was...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Lowell can finish anywhere from 8th through 10th. Vermont can only tie Lowell, but Lowell owns the tiebreaker, so the Catamounts will finish in last place. Their most likely finish is either 9th or 10th, and most likely opponent in the 1st round will be either Merrimack or Northeastern. There...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

First time since January of 1988 that they scored 4 goals or more in back to back home games and lost both. On the positive side, Josh Mori was the first freshman defenseman with 2 goals in a home game since Mike Nicolishen on February 10, 1995 against BU at Tully Forum.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

When did I ever say I was happy being at the bottom? I will support this team no matter what. This team was near the bottom for quite a while before Norm arrived and I was still there every game, as were quite a few others on here.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

They've only had 24 100-point scorers in the Division 1 era (43 years), and 8 in the last 25 years, so it's not like we've always had a lot of those guys.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Lowell has been shut out 5 times already this season, tying 2023-24 for the 2nd most in a single season. The only season they failed to score in a game more often was 2003-04, when they put up a goose egg 6 times.

3 Celsius maybe, certainly not Fahrenheit.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

A few other nuggets from last night: Misskey is only the 4th freshman defenseman with an OT goal in Lowell's Division 1 era. The other 3 all were at home: Paul Ames vs Babson in 1984, Zack Kamrass against PC in the 2012 HE quarterfinals, Christian Folin in 2014 against Northeastern. Lowell was...

Probably the same morons that were yelling for Richard to be put in after the 2 empty-netters.

Actually, I'm posting stats, nothing else. They show you what has happened up to this point, and do not tell you what is going to happen. Also, if people didn't enjoy the past, there'd be no reason to raise championship banners. But hey, if you want to keep being negative, that's on you. I...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Lowell is 79-143-20 when giving up the first goal under Norm, but yes, the 0-10-0 this season is ugly. The .368 winning percentage is well above the overall NCAA average of .297 over that span. They were 7-12-1 last season when allowing the 1st goal of the game.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

This was probably their best weekend of the season. They played a phenomenal game on Friday to bear the #14 team in the nation. On Saturday, they actually played a very good game, but when they made a poor play St. Cloud was right there to pounce on it and score. But please, keep up this shtick...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

On average, the team that scores first wins about 70% of the time. Under Norm, Lowell has won 76.6% of the time when scoring the 1st goal of the game, 9th best in the nation over that span.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

The biggest question mark for today's game has nothing to do with Lowell. Alex Tracy is one of the best goalies in the nation, but played in the Spengler Cup. He had to travel yesterday from Switzerland to California. Will he be in net for MSU today? What kind of shape will he be in after that...

An ugly win is better than a beautiful loss. This game was brutal to watch.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Elliott is still just a freshman. While the expectation is that he'll be a great goalie, that doesn't mean that he's going to be one of the best goalies in Hockey East THIS season. There will be growing pains. He's already tied for 12th in Lowell's D1 history for games played by a freshman...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

I decided to do a little research on our goalies after a conversation with someone, comparing the amount of goals we score with each of them in net, compared to the number allowed. I converted the former into a number per 60 minutes, so that it matches GAA. (Similar to Run Support for a Pitcher...
