    Transfer Portal 2026

I disagree with the players being happier ... It's back to pre- covid and no extra years. What does that mean? If the team is doing it right, the coach has 4 to 5 scholarships a year. If you already have players signed it means that you maybe have wriggle room for one more. The Muzzinator...

    Colgate 2025-26

A lot of good players on the list. If Colgate can grab a couple of transfers, the program will be in good shape. Player retention is going to be key.

https://www.uscho.com/2026/03/27/mercyhurst-to-end-mens-hockey-program/ Startling news that could be reverberating towards the Lady Lakers.

Hernick was Ben the former goalie coach's trainee. Ben left mid-season last year. https://www.mlive.com/highschoolsports/2025/06/frankenmuth-goalie-goes-from-backyard-rink-to-penn-state-scholarship.html I'm not sure what's going on at Mercyhurst with all these players in the portal.

Good point on shelter! Wallin also has a big year at UMD coming over from the AHA. The UMD coach is a quiet secret on their recruiting abilities of transfer students. Mobley and Gigure ended up at UMD also. I thought that Minnesota would have grabbed the UMD coach after letting Frost go.

Don't discount the non-wcha players - a Mercyhurst player ended up at UMD and led the team in scoring for most of the year until she went to the Olympics....And led her Olympic team in scoring. Muzzy poached five or six Robert Morris players her first year after the program collapsed.

    2026-27 Penn State Nittany Lions

Mercyhurst is getting bludgeoned in the portal with five players having submitted their names. That's a bit surprising to me as the program was ranked 12 th. So far no players from PSU have entered.

So much for being a slow portal year.

The next class coming in is good and the 33 wins will take care of the next two classes after that. The program is in great shape. Kampersal has a great coaching staff, hopefully he can hold onto all of them.

    Minnesota Women's Hockey 2025-26

May received what is the norm - the four year deal to start so everything seems to be in order there. An NFL team just fired a head coach and promoted a coordinator and the reasoning was a new direction and continuity in equal parts so maybe apply that to this situation.

Kampersal wants to meet with the administration to gameplan to get more fans in the building for next year. Start with getting the band at every game. Whether the band comes under the AD, I don't know, but the band director comes under some administrator. Make sure the person that is in...

    Patty Kazmaier 2026

I'm going to think she bounces one player. Say what you want but One Olympian vs 5 Olympians and Janecke had PSU right on the precipice. That is going to speak to someone. My comp has always been a female Tkachuk. And of course that doesn't take away from any of the other girls up for draft.

5,176 fans and a record attendance for the Women's Final Four. 3-3 heading to OT. The crowd is glorious.

Boston College Women's Hockey '25-'26: It's The Hope That Kills You

I checked and you are right on Minnesota Men's hockey. AI says one of the few hockey programs that generate a net positive.

Nope? Yes, Janecke's first game at Penn State, Penn State beat Wisconsin. Wisconsin won the second game. Penn State has beaten Wisconsin, Minnesota and UMD in the last four years. Wisconsin is heavily favored Friday night, and why wouldn't they be with their juggernaut status?

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

Thursday Night's game is going to be a white out stealing the idea from the football team. Just found out Kampersal had/allowed his asst coach Makenna Newkirk to go to Italy to watch the Olympics. Newkirk coached Janecke at the U16 level at Naha and maybe more. The former BC captain was a great...

Boston College Women's Hockey '25-'26: It's The Hope That Kills You

Mackenzie did get off to a slow start, but Hockey East was much a stronger conference when he started. UConn is the only collegiate program in the country to have three money making teams. (Women's Bball, Men's Bball and Football). I kind of think he has a snowball going downhill. it's just a...

Boston College Women's Hockey '25-'26: It's The Hope That Kills You

Ohio State happened to Minnesota. And I'll be the first to connect that Colgate's rise coincides with BC's fall. Of course that will be hotly debated, but Fargo's first year at Colgate, Colgate had 5 wins. Fargo leaves and Colgate is falling. I noticed a Serdachny at UConn which is a sister of...
