The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Between that dude claiming to be Christian and a “Christian” group donating to his hate- there is even less reason to become religious to white Christianity these days.
Are you suggesting that people who voted to turn off all help that we, as a country, agreed to provide for them, are now asking for help?
Sucks to be them.
Couple of years ago, I posted a long report about a trip we took out to 6 western National Parks/ Monuments.
Just learned this afternoon that one of those lodges has burned down- the North Rim of the Grand Canyon has burned down from a huge wildfire that started from a lightning strike on July...
They are not what they used to be, so I don't think an F1 change in location is going to mean much to them. There are only 1.1M F1 viewers, and given when almost all of them are run, they also watch Indycar and/or NASCAR.
NASCAR is really suffering right now- Fox is taking Indycar, Fox Sports or TNT sports has NASCAR. If anyone, the shift will really help Indycar and it's coverage.
Basically, F1 to Apple is just bad news for racing in the US.
I wonder what Netflix's bid was since they have DTS.
I did. And it makes me feel a whole lot less sorry for people who die because they could not be warned.
Even saw a report that the county where the flooding took place were given money to spend on weather warning systems. They specifically DIDN'T use it because it was given to them by the...
When is enough enough?
If people want to work their way to their grave, go for it, but lets not pretend that it's for some grand help for society or for the future. At some point, it's better for the overall economy to spend your money and let someone else earn their own to spend.
It's...
I never really come to this thread, but seeing the r response of the rain that cause the flooding in Texas- we are so screwed.
Many of them are convinced that it was cloud seeding that cause it and want to ban cloud seeding (and have introduced a bill banning it).
Clearly to deny the fact that...
Yet by hanging on, you prevent someone else an opportunity when you no longer really need it anymore.
So which is actually better for increasing the system standard of living- your keeping to work and earning money that you may never use or letting someone new do the same work and adding...
Remember, we have been sold the myth of working hard for someone else is a moral thing to do. Even Mark Twain made fun of this 150 years ago.
It would be hard to see that change. It's even embedded in American Christianity.
I really wish I could see a path to what you want.
I'm pretty amused when people think they are going to be bored during retirement. So they have plans to work. Not that they need the money, but that working is something to do. As if you can't find something better to do. Fun projects, travel, volunteering for some important organization...
One other timely post- you see a lot of people questioning the response in Texas, right? And when I hear the questions, while there is some blame in them, there's a lot of looking at preventing this happening again.
And for all of that, the right is hammering on not making this political...
Interesting- there must be a local minority that has a lot of signs like around Clarkson. But how do they see the impact on their fishing and hunting grounds? Or even the massive trails around the UP? I can see them want the mining, but not when the impact finally hits them. Kind of short...
I have a good one for you- I was up in the UP having dinner in Hancock with some family and future family, and I brought up the concept that pretty much all conservative Yoopers are strident environmentalist based on so many being against new mining (gravel, iron, copper, whatever) and wanting...
You reminded me that I had a rant from driving yesterday. Up in dumpy country on our way to a concert last night- seeing "stop the gravel pit" signs all over the place. Somehow, these people don't realize that they voted to make it easier for gravel pit companies to start. With vigorous...
Sounds a lot like open wheel racing in the US.
The strongest desire is F1 and all of the feeder series. So Indycar gets the retirees or the ones who don't get past F1 (or some former F1 drivers who just never performed). Sometimes, drivers come with clear intent, and then have an amazing...
With all the talk about it, I thought it was after this past weekend. Dunno.
If Jos triggered it, I think it was a really bad move to do that- at least for Max. RBR has so many questions going into 2026 that they are almost like Audi's new works team.
One thing that has come to mind here- Verstappen. And I mean Jos not Max. He was playing the accusations a year ago trying to get control of the team, so I'm theorizing that he used Max and his escape clause to gain control of the team by getting Horner canned. Not sure why, as RBR's...
