    Not just the player. It starts with coaching staff. That's why I am more optimistic about the conference since the coaching changes of the last couple of years (including Raboin at Augie).

    17 signings so far. If I counted correctly, there are 10 from last year who didn't graduate or left via the portal. My guess is there will be one more signing to bring the roster to 28.

    There won't be enough D2 and D3 schools who will voluntarily drop down. And there are plenty of D1 programs who likely won't opt in. If the NCAA forced schools to drop down/opt in, they'd have to defend that in court. Their track record in that matter hasn't been good. We'll have to ride this...

    That's kind of how it's working now. Highly touted prospects go to the "prestige" schools then enter the portal to go to a school where they will get ice time and develop.

    Maybe. At some point those "feeder" schools will stop recruiting those kind of players. There aren't enough schools with the CHL now in play. And there is also a risk to that strategy.

    Not sure how that can be done with an odd number of teams other than having some teams play fewer out of conference. Unfortunately, we need to win more out of conference games if we want to separate ourselves from Atlantic Hockey.

    Eisele is a grad transfer. He's probably considering options for his final year of eligibility. Unless there's a bunch of D-men that hit the portal, I'm not too worried.
