The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
The NYTimes is slowly creeping into tv news territory with how many "breaking news" emails they're sending out lately.
No, not everything is breaking news that needs to clutter my inbox. Iran? Yes. The resignation of THE Ohio State University president? not so much. That's just normal news.
The 6 counties in Iowa that are still reliably blue have the 3 college towns (Iowa City, Ames, Cedar Falls) and the three cities (Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Davenport). Iowa City is the most liberal of those 6 areas, but Des Moines isn't too far behind.
Omaha is obviously Nebraska's blue dot...

I'm 100% not defending the war by any means, but presuming the war itself is a thing, the lawyer in me has to question how destroying a clear military target is a war crime?
By all accounts this was a naval destroyer, not a civilian ship.
He sent his kid to Liberty University even though he's Catholic because an actual Catholic university run by Jesuits or other academic orders of Catholicism was too liberal for him.
The long-rumored story is that Grassley wanted to retire years ago and have the Governor appoint his grandson (who is speaker of the house for the state leg) to the seat, but the Governor and the grandson don't get along so she wasn't going to appoint him. So elder Grassley has hung around...
Dartmouth with the big win over QU to get ever closer to lock status. Still think a win tomorrow and then getting to lake placid assures them of making the tourney for the first time in my lifetime.

Bernie didn't win a single southern state where black voters make up a substantial portion, if not the majority, of Democratic voters. In fact, most of them were complete tramplings with Hillary getting...
Then Bernie should've gotten more votes. You're the one who's constantly telling people if they lose voters due to an enthusiasm gap, it's not on the voters but on the candidate.
Bernie, like Mayor Pete, couldn't get the black vote. That's not on the DNC.
The US seems like they're scared to shoot, especially the Tkachuks. They had a few grade A chances and passed looking for the pretty back door play rather than just getting it on net/ trying to pick a corner.
Refs seem to not want to call a thing, seen a few trips each way that went uncalled...
And they once again give up a 3rd period lead on the road. At least they hung on for the tie/SO win. A 2-1-2 road trip isn't the worst thing in the world, but 4-1 was within reasonable reach.
Hope they come out firing at home next weekend. I would prefer not to be on pins and needles the final...
If Dartmouth can win tonight, it'll be a 3-1-1 road trip which i would've taken 3 weeks ago given their road woes, but given how close they were to coming into tonight 4-0 on the trip with a chance to go 5-0, it's now just salvaging the trip.
A 2-1 finish to the regular season and making it to...
Even if the Finn caught Mackinnon high however slightly, the ref clearly didn't see the penalty and solely called the penalty based on the acting job that followed. That arm went up a good 4 Mississippis after any contact was made.
