The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Denver is "supposed" to be there, UW is not. Going with the Las Vegas theme, the Badgers are playing with house money. Play loose, play free, see what happens.
(Tim will understand this better than maybe some of the others, but it's giving me 2023 Cam Kronish vibes.)
Seriously?!?
His post was pointing out that it was Ohio State who knocked the UW women's team out of their conference tournament. That turned out to be UW's last loss of the year, with them going on to win the national championship.
The post came to mind when the UW men's team won on Thursday...
As unsurprising as it gets: KK Harvey named the USCHO women's player of the year.

When I wrote "March 15", it was based on a pdf file with dates from last fall. Around Christmas, the NCAA shortened the portal windows and changed the effective dates for a number of sports, including men's and women's ice hockey,
So, I'm guessing that you're either typing "March 15" but...
I turned on one of the NCAA men's games today a few minutes early, and they were airing a piece about "The Michigan", which itself was interesting about its history and 'development', and how COVID may have led to a sort-of revival of it.
And all of a sudden, I'm looking at Nicole Gorbatenko...
During the men's game, they mentioned that it's 20 years since UW won both the men's and women's championships, and it made me think of this,; pretty startling when you say it this way.
2006 was the first championship for the women, and that would be a total 21 tournaments, then to now. Only...
Supposedly, IIRC, it has something to do with the way the school was created under Ohio state statutes, and it being the "land grant" college in Ohio. Of course, many othe B1G schools and land grant schools that haven't needed to worry about their status in any similar way. :-)
The TV people made a big deal about UW's "fourth line" getting ice time late, and maybe the were listed fourth on the chart, but I assume a lot of it was getting Picard out for faceoffs.
Re. Amos "jumping off", some game along the way AJ Milewzko said she would sometimes be sent out to...
That was more about UW and Ohio being less likely to have a spot available for her.
And, yes, it slipped my mind that she had started at Minnesota. Still, new coach, things change, etc.
