Right. There is no question that the LEC is not as strong as the NEHC was. BUT, having some traditional powers at the top (Norwich, Babson) should motivate the newer programs to rise. If anything, I'd say the LEC is the new ECAC East more than the new MASCAC.

I don't disagree with you; my preference would be to eliminate the tourneys and just award the AQ to the best team throughout the entirety of the season. The reality is, despite it being more impressive unless you get an at-large bid it means nothing if you don't win the AQ.
Admittedly, I do not know all the freshmen listed well. I was surprised to see neither Frank D'Ancona nor Niko Benjamin from Norwich on the all-rookie team.
