    Any chance that Western Michigan considers adding women's hockey, given a peak in hockey interest and a $300M facility on the way? It seems like a new program would have a greater chance of success if it is doing so from a position of strength.

    I don't think you need an if clause on that last sentence. Even if Kaiser is back and healthy, they will be weaker at center, and that's always been a key position for GWH. It will be a struggle to stay in front of UMD.

    That athletic department has demonstrated enough sustained success in BB on both the men's and women's side that I wouldn't dismiss those Huskies out of hand. If UConn decides it wants to be a major player in women's puck, I'm not going to say it's impossible.

    When I started to read this, I wondered how far these girls would need to travel to get a decent game. But with over 200 in the program and that many showing up weekly, it would seem that they have the critical mass to make this a really positive experience. Well done by the former Laker!
