The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I will be spending a week in Madison later this month (21-29) to visit a friend I haven't seen in over 10 years. We have the usual plans: Breweries, bars, etc. But I am looking for other things to do in the area. My friend lives downtown and does not have a car of her own (we will borrow a...
So I'm going to be in Minneapolis visiting a friend from Aug 20-28. Wilco concert on the 20th and probably some time at the state fair. The main goal of this trip is to go to breweries everyday.
So I'm looking for suggestions on breweries we should try. I'm a fan of most beer types except...
Thought I would just start a quick thread for this.
Those in Minnesota who are near Mankato and are fans of sculpture might want to check out the City Art Waling Sculpture Tour.

A solar flare that occured Thursday morning is expected to result in an excellent chance to see some Aurora borealis tonight.
Check this link: http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/dazzling-northern-lights-antic-1/10107004 to see if you are in the prime viewing areas.
I am right on the...
There used to be a thread like this a while back but I think it got purged.
After a long time without them, I finally put my feeders back up and filled them. I have 3 suet cakes out, 1 large square seed cake, 2 feeders for standard feed, 1 thistle feeder, and one small tray attached to the...
So I'm watching an episode of Comic Book Men and they are asking each other "What is your Holy Grail?" What is that one thing, that one collectable, that one car, that one book, painting, item, whatever, that if you could find and afford you would just have to have and would never give up when...
I feel like we usually have a thread like this every year. So what did you get for Christmas this year? I got:
Fishpond fishing vest (this was the top of my list item I was asking for. I fly fish a fair amount and wanted one of these. They are quality vests)
Cash - some from my mom to get me up...
I know there are many people on here from the twin cities area so what better place to ask.
I will be in St Paul later this month for about a week for the American Fisheries Society conference. Staying downtown at the Crowne Plaza. Was wondering if anyone had recomendations for bars/restaraunts...
Ok foodies and other folks. I have a few questions for you. I am currently working on my PhD studying fish nutirtion and physiology in the aquaculture setting. My research (as well as most of the research in my lab) involves trying to develop new feeds and feeding strategies for aquaulture that...
I checked out this site when it was linked by a minor league team near my home town (their stadium had been named the #1 park in all of minor league baseball and #13 in all pro sports...and this is for a single A team). Its a pretty neat site. Looks like they have visited all of the pro stadiums...
I have a friend on facebook who periodically posts a "this day in history" tidbit (often about the Civil War since he doesn reenactments). Thought it might be an interesting thing to do here as well... I will try to post something daily but others are free to post things as well, as I'm sure I...
The annual Banished Words List has been released by Lake Superior State Univeristy. Simples words like "Amazing" as well as phrases like "baby bump" and "win the future" appear on the list. Thoughts? What else should be added?
Lake Superior State University has released their annual Banished Words List. They almost need to call it the banished word and phrase list though since there are more and more phrases showing up. Some good ones on there this year including "viral", "epic" and others.
Its getting to be that time of year again. NORADs Official Santa Tracker webpage has been open since Dec. 1st. You can also apparently follow it on Twitter and it has a facebook page as well with over 430,000 likes. I dont remember if this has always been the case but the page is now available...
The other thread closed and apparently the other MLB thread I saw was only for HOF talk....Someone else can think of a witty title if they want.
Im happy to see that the White Sox got Konerko back. Should have the potential for a good lineup with Dunn, Konerko, Quinten and Rios if most of them...
I tried searching for the old "Fishin'" thread but couldnt find it (and yes I tried the search function...nothing). So time to start a new one.
With the winter around the corner my itch to ice fish has surfaced. Unfortunately, living in southern Illinois I won't see much ice around here (did...
35 years ago today. This probably wouldnt be as memorable to me if I didnt spend 4 years at school watching the freighters move through the locks. I cant imagine what that night was like for these men. In the haunting words from Gordon Lightfoots song "Does anyone know where the love of God goes...
I was day dreaming today at work and random scenes from Futurama came to my head. And I started to think of some of the different crazy stuff from that show I would like to see...even if its not practical or even useful. Things like:
The Becktionary
The Angry Dome
The What If Machine
The...
So I know that sometimes this kind of stuff gets talked about in other threads or the "LIST" thread but I thought we could make one thread for this. If you have things going on in your life in which you could use some prayers from others (for those that do that) or at least some good...
