The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
The D-iii Hockey News page on X just posted that Hiram College in northeast Ohio is hiring a coach for the new men’s NCAA Division 3 hockey program they’re starting in 25-26.
The future of the NCAA is at stake. The NCAA is facing 2 major lawsuits seeking compensation for athletes (House v. NCAA and Hubbard v. NCAA). These lawsuits are seeking billions in damages for compensation past athletes feel they should be entitled to.
From everything I read about past court...

Big news from the NCAA Convention today as Prposals 5 and 6 are adopted, dropping the number of teams required for an autobid from 7 to 6, and, I believe, changing the access ratio of NCAA Tournament bids from 6.5-1 to 6-1.
Alvernia adds women’s team. Could men’s team and a MAC pullout of UCHC be far behind?
It was announced today that Alvernia College is starting a women’s hockey program. That would give the MAC 6 women’s teams in 2019. You have to wonder if a men’s team will be added, as we head toward the MAC...
There is a change in the format of the Division 3 ECAC- West playoff tournament. A full 8 teams will qualify, with the quarterfinals on Thursday, February 23 hosted by the top 4 seeds.
Instead of the top 4 going to one site, the semifinals will be hosted by the top 2 remaining seeds on Sunday...
I saw an article that Wilkes University is adding men's and women's hockey in 2017-18. Makes me wonder if the MAC is going to try to get the teams to form their own conference and leave the ECAC-West in the cold again.
Sorry I'm having trouble posting a link.
Just wondering of those who went to Lewiston as I did, how did you find the experience? How would you compare it to Lake Placid? I enjoyed the enthusiasm the locals had in hosting the tournament. The arena I thought was nice.
I thought the town was a little boring. Not much to do in Lewiston...
