The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
From here on USCHO.com -- NCAA ice hockey rules committee proposes 3-on-3 overtime, shootout for conference games, in-season tournaments
Additional proposals:
Offensive team be allowed to choose from which faceoff circle the puck would be dropped at the start of a power play or after icing...
Decided to start a new thread since, even though this involves a Team USA squad, the initial news is Canadian.
Hockey Canada has announced the 43-player roster for their Summer Showcase development team camp in Calgary, from which 23 players will be selected for a three-game series against the...
ARM scooped me on the press release...
First Team

So after basically disconnecting from the Fan Forum for a month, I'm back... and with a new discussion topic.
It's an even-numbered year, which means potential rule changes for NCAA men's and women's ice hockey. I found a copy of a letter sent earlier this week from the NCAA to "NCAA Ice...
Starting a new thread because, well, this really didn't fit anywhere else (unless someone wanted to start a 2024-25 recruiting thread).
The Star Tribune in Minneapolis posted a lengthy article -- 7-year-old Sara Woll: A life (already) committed to hockey. The preview tag reads:
I haven't...
There was another mention in the Minnesota Golden Gopher thread about when the team got TV coverage a few years back. I was about to reply there, but thought a new thread on the subject would be better suited.
I have mixed emotions about televised games, particularly as someone who is...
Should I subtitle this thread "the climatic ending"? Seriously though, much healthy (and maybe some unhealthy, but such is life) discussion about the team as the season has gone along.
Two games to go. Home stretch, at home no less. To quote the great philosopher, Lawrence the Television...
Here's a link to an article that was listed on the main USCHO home page, detailing/documenting all the schedule changes.

I may be the only one that cares, but I thought I'd post the thread anyway.
In a pre-Cup exhibition game yesterday, the Canada U22 team defeated Germany, 8-1. A full recap is on the Hockey Canada website at http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.php/ci_id/208575/la_id/1.htm. Marie-Philip Poulin had...
It's been just under two years since the last set of changes made by the NCAA Ice Hockey Rules Committee. During that last meeting in 2010, hybrid icing was added as was the enforcement of a delayed penalty even when the opposing team scores. Also debated was always-on icing, but at the last...
An open letter to the person who tried to bait me during the live blog of the Women's World Championship game between the USA and Russia last night...
You are a moron. Your question was entirely inappropriate and uncalled for.
I'll gladly admit to being a Gopher Women's Hockey fanatic, and I...
Is anyone else having an issue with the Fan Forum interface reverting to/being in the Mobile skin every time you go to a different page? I'm having to manually tell it to switch to the USCHO 2011 skin every time. I even checked my User CP settings. It's frustrating.
Rather than have comments from the six games (three for the U18s and three for the U22s) going to the two separate threads for the two countries, I thought it made sense to set up this new thread to cover all six games.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like either series is going to have any...
Todd Milewski, on the men's side of USCHO, put out a blog entry indicating some proposed rule changes for next season. I don't know how many of these would carry over to the women's game, but I thought I'd document the links to the blog entries for your perusal.
Contact to Head Crackdown Among...
Rather than having separate threads for each team (no offense intended, ithacat :o ), we'll start a new thread overall, and we'll start with this submission.
But don't expect the WCHA teams to finalize their schedules until June or July (or maybe even August).
Since the folks posting in the Canadian team thread seem obsessed with the junior men's tournament, I thought it would be appropriate to start a thread for a big junior women's tournament that involves a number of college players.
Some notable players participating in this tournament...
