Surprised this has not been posted yet. Haley Wickenheiser Announced her retirement. She sure moved the game several steps ahead during her time, part of 5 Olympics and a few records with the National team that may never be broken. Hell-of-a-career...

CBC Hometown Hockey - Cameron and Rattray

The 25th and final installment of the Sunday night national "hometown hockey" broadcast had a distinct "womens hockey element" to it. Tonight's show, that preceded the Leafs- Sens game, was from Kanata, home town of Jamie Lee Rattray. Not only did they have an extended installment on her, they...

    2015 World is upon us.

Could not find a Clarkson Thread to post this from the local Rag, so starting this thread: (also a way to avoid posting in the US team thread that some tend to frown upon :( ) http://ottawacitizen.com/sports/local-sports/jamie-lee-rattray-ready-to-serve-canada-on-world-hockey-stage

College Hockey in the US...How it all began

I think this is worth a view for those of you interested in the history of the game. Three of the trail blazers part of that Original "Pembroke Pandas" team were in attendance at the recent 50th anniversary celebration. http://www.brownbears.com/sports/w-hockey/2013-14/videos/Hockey50thFINAL...

    Lead up to Sochi

Time for a special thread to monitor progress to the Olympics. This somewhat disconcerting article was the trigger to start things off: http://www.womenshockeylife.com/blogs_view_dsp.cfm?BlogId=1151&CatId=6 Clearly not the message most of us would like to hear while many are trying to grow...

Where did the Message Board go ?

Used to be able to converse via a message board one on one with other posters. Visible via a person's profile, but you could adjust privacy settings. This message board was introduced during the last major overhaul of this board about two years ago. Used it recently (about a month or so ago)...

    The 2011-2012 ECAC Posters Pool

A few weeks of NC games in the books. Time to get this poll rolling for this year. Rules are the same as last year. Pick a winnner or a tie game. One point per correct pick. We will have a weekly winner, and keep yearly standings for those that participate in at least 75% of the games. Runs from...

    ECAC Caps problem.

Trying to create new thread with the Title < ECAC 2011 - 2012 >. For some reason the system converts this to lower case < Ecac 2011 - 2012 >  . Some other threads do start with an all Caps acronym. For example the UNH and WCHA tread titles have the acronyms in All Caps. Event...

    Worlds Announcement

Word on the street up here is that Ottawa, site of the first event back in 1990, will be hosting the 2013 Worlds. Formal announcement expected today. That would be great for those in the North Eastern US, Ontario and Quebec. Both the 2012 (Burlington, Vt) and 2013 event in the "neighborhood". :)

"Restarting the poll with the public view of votes option enabled." As promised back in November, here is the second round of the D1 Forum Poll to see who will win the crown. Expect quite a few changes. Was debating my own vote as well. Heart sais Cornell. Brain sais Wisco. I stayed with the...

    ECAC Predictions - 2010 - 2011

With the Ivies starting up in earnest this week, time to dust off the ECAC prediction contest from years past. We do not want to be left in the dust by the CHA and HE. I mean the number one ranked team hails from the ECAC. :) :D :) Scoring will be simple. 1 point of each correct pick, win...

With the season just about to get underway, time for the pundits on here to weigh in on the polls. IMHO Big Red are the team to beat this year, finally bringing that crown east. My Poll: 1 - Cornell 2 - Wisco 3 - UMD 4 - Hurst 5 - BU 6 - Minny 7 - Clarky 8 - Harvard 9 - ND 10 - BC
