The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
You guys should see all the teeth gnashing on the X accounts of GPL and for Rodent fans, to sum:
1) Rodentsota fans going apoplectic that WI got to the FF
2) People being pissed at Ped St for breaking up the WCHA (I got that out of my system a long time ago)
3) Everyone wanting Denver and UMD...
Fair if they didnt bid on it, and I get it...but then the NCAA gets stuck keeping the same places that just reinforce the regional bias issues.
The question becomes I suppose what guarentees does the NCAA place for sites to bid?
Well, that 0-6 stretch was brutal. Casual fans will walk away. They were all out of sorts and were down to playing 5 D men with Horbach filling in to make 6. It was a true gauntlet looking back. Casual fans prob did leave lol
Apparently the strongest steel is forged in the fire of a dumpster...
I agree, MSU staff is too notch and they run a tight ship/prgm. Never really had any issues with their fans either that I can think of and spent many a time in East Lansing with Cardinal and White on.
That being said, it felt really good to get their goose this year with the amt of talent they...
The regionals just flat out favor Denver, North Dakota/Minnesota and all the Eastern teams. There are so many great barns being passed over in the midwest it's sad, which would absolutely carry attendance.
MECCA in Milwaukee, Resch Center in Green Bay, Cincinnati, Toledo, Van Andel in Grand...
Capital expenditures are surely a big cost, but once in place, it's not too terribly difficult to maintain with a competent ice team. Travel is a huge cost as well.
The bigger issue to me is how college hockey existed for so long on small rinks/arenas that seat 2000-4000 ppl, save for a few...
Let's not forget Notre Dame went to the Big10 bc Hockey East travel was eating their lunch and they cried Uncle. Going way back it was also a major factor why Notre Dame, Michigan State and Michigan left the WCHA in 1981. The original CCHA provided easy bus travel for most every team.
This is...
IIRC, we played RIT that game. It wasnt really close, and RIT didn't look like they belonged there, but it wasnt really a blowout until the 3rd, so I think it was a case of that Badgers team just wearing RIT down with depth of talent.
I think generally Eastern teams, save for a few HE teams...
I plan on rewatching tonight to really take a listen to the announcers, any bias, and look at Hayaer's play. I tend to watch a game like Im at the arena so I zone out the commentary and watch the play on the ice.
I certainly wasnt impressed out of the gate. The fact that these games are on...
As many have said....it just depends on which WI team shows up. I think Dartmouth is pretty consistent and well known at this point, and the SoS is kinda no dofferent than other top 10 teams when theu play other top teams. 50/50. That's hockey.
If the WI team shows up that swept Penn St and...
If Rohlik wasn't interested in the Wisconsin job, can you imagine the outrage if he took the Goofers job from Wisconsin fans? I still haven't heard the bottom line on how hard WI went after Rohlik. Maybe Hastings is on the Motz 8yr plan and we'll get another honest run on Rohlik, but there is...
I am definitely hoping for an East Regional, but there isn't going to be any "easy" regional. CHN seems to put the Badgers in Loveland only under some serious machinations by the committee. Either way, we will find out this afternoon. Whoever their matchup is, my preference is to avoid an "Ohio...
