The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I agree with you that Maine should schedule more variety in their opponents, but every year that passes I find it less likely. I get the sense that Maine is just fine scheduling Quinnipiac plus a decorative cupcake arrangement.
A Bemidji fan I saw online didnt seem to thrilled with Parehk and his play, but he did say that he dealt with some injuries this past year. As I said before, I dont want to judge transfers just on stats, so will reserve judgement until we get to see him actually play for ourselves.
Regarding Poirier, I dont think we'll ever know for sure as fans what happened. I thought he was a hard worker on the ice, he backchecked frequently and made a lot of good defensive plays, but that doesn’t mean that he couldnt also have been a bad teammate. Or maybe others were bad to him and he...
From what we did see of him, I liked what I saw. I said early on the year that I hoped we would see more of him, and then that didn't really happen. It is true that he didnt get a ton of playing time, but from the time he did I was happy with what I saw.
From McMahon's newsletter tonight:
4) Justin Poirier is on my portal tracker, but he hasn’t officially entered yet. I checked with sources on Friday and was told he plans to enter this week. He underwent surgery last week, which may have delayed the process. Poirier is the best player currently...
Yeah the Poirier thing is very interesting and a little strange. I think he is in the portal but either is in the midst of a bidding war for him, or some are being scared off due to the injury concerns. I don't think its out of the question that he ends up returning to Maine after all.
I really like the Parks pickup. I remember him causing havoc against Maine previously, and I think he's pretty fast too, so a big guy with speed and energy who has PP scoring touch might just be what the doctor ordered.
I like the Klimpke pickup. Bales idk a ton about, hard to judge D from stats alone. I don't really remember seeing him when we played PC this past year.
