The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Well this just solidified that the best thing to do as a fan at this point is to adjust your expectations, if you haven't already. They aren't going anywhere, I'm finally ready to accept that and rule out a second half hot streak. Just want to see progress from the younger players and in...
At this point, Boija and his struggles have been discussed at length. Rousseau has shown flashes but is also a pretty inconsistent goalie. I still think Rousseau is the better choice right now, he has the better lateral movement and vision by a mile, and he isn't visibly reacting negatively...
I highlighted Langlois on the first goal, and it was a bad play by him, but was also a bad goal by Boija. Second goal was probably worse. Two straight goals high glove side without a screen. Tough scene.
Ive made it a point that if a Black Bear from when I was a student plays in the NHL, I buy his sweater. Right now my collection is three. If Eddie got called up to the league Id be ecstatic and would buy his immediately; he was one of my favorite players from that era, probably my second favorite.
Two really great games to watch. I do generally think that it was more of Maine playing well than it was DU playing poorly. Up to about 21 in NPI now, firmly in the bubble conversation. Special teams still weren't great on both sides, but Id rather be a team that's solid 5on5 with iffy special...
Fabulous win. Agree with others that it was one of the best games Ive seen them play in a while. As long as they look competitive tomorrow I'll be satisfied with the weekend, even if they lose. But hey, hopefully they win, and really get the ball rolling for second semester.
Dynamite second period, they were dogpiling them until the major, which they still then managed to kill. Let's lock it down in the third and grab a big win.
Scoreless after the first period. Other than one kinda ugly shift early on, Maine has looked pretty good, mostly evenly played. I heard the broadcast say late in the period that shots were 12-10 Maine. Each team 0/1 on the PP so far, but DU had zero shots on theirs if I recall.
Gameday. Glad to be back. I said a few weeks ago that we will learn a lot this series, and I stand by it. I think I saw in Dimitri's article that a hypothetical sweep would get them right onto the NPI bubble, and even a split would get them into the 20s and give some life.
