    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

It's been talked about for at least a couple years now, and the concern was always what effect a conference tournament would have on teams playing a bunch of VB right before heading into the NCAA tournament. Would three or more matches tire them out, and hurt their performance in the NCAAs, etc...

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

Milwaukee Journal has an article this morning saying that all the winter sports coaches received their annual contract extensions. Retirement to the ranch waits at least one more year for MJ.

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

This is going to seem totally random, because it pretty much is. And it's going to take a while to get there. Back starting in 2016 and running a half-dozen years, there was a Canadian TV show called "Letterkenny", about a small town in Canada and the people who live there. Rapid-fire...

    Transfer Portal 2026

210 men's players entered their transfer portal today, the first day of the "one-time" undergrad transfer period (which isn't one-time anymore, is it...)

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

My niece's husband was a walk-on on the football team his freshman year, the same year McIntosh was a freshman. He likes to say that his job at practice was to get off an Aaron Gibson block, and go tackle Ron Dayne, and that's why he only lasted one year (it's not, but it's a good line.) I...

Chris McIntosh leaving his job as AD. Speaking for friends who were members of and who know members of the track team alumni: "Oh HELL YES!!"

Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

Denver is "supposed" to be there, UW is not. Going with the Las Vegas theme, the Badgers are playing with house money. Play loose, play free, see what happens. (Tim will understand this better than maybe some of the others, but it's giving me 2023 Cam Kronish vibes.)

    Ohio State Women's Hockey 2025-26

Seriously?!? His post was pointing out that it was Ohio State who knocked the UW women's team out of their conference tournament. That turned out to be UW's last loss of the year, with them going on to win the national championship. The post came to mind when the UW men's team won on Thursday...

The internet tells me that Laila threw out the first pitch at the Cleveland home opener today, vs the Cubs.

That's called an "ad populum" argument, one of the classic sources of fallacy. Yes, they might. And then again, they might not.

The portal is open yet today, and news of entries might not become known until tomorrow or even Wednesday. So, fingers crossed 'til then.

As unsurprising as it gets: KK Harvey named the USCHO women's player of the year. https://www.uscho.com/2026/04/03/wisconsins-caroline-harvey-named-uscho-player-of-the-year

    Transfer Portal 2026

When I wrote "March 15", it was based on a pdf file with dates from last fall. Around Christmas, the NCAA shortened the portal windows and changed the effective dates for a number of sports, including men's and women's ice hockey, So, I'm guessing that you're either typing "March 15" but...

    Transfer Portal 2026

This is the first year the "window" is so short; 15 days instead of what used to be 45 (?) days.

Down two to this MSU team with five minutes to play, what are the chances? 100-to-1? Less? That was amazing.
