Boston College Women's Hockey '25-'26: It's The Hope That Kills You

I don't really have an opinion on whether BC can afford to pay double, I will throw in there that BC is not football rich. As far as coaches - the best move might be to try and get the Northeastern coach to jump ship. Northeastern always seems to be a bit better than the school reputation and...

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

I would have been shocked to see Lindenwood in third also. I had taken a gander recently on Mercyhurst's total win total and they should finish the regular season at about 22 wins. RIT had a better first half of the season and has tailed off recently. Penn State dropped to #5 in the USA Today...

Good to see Desa got to play in the program's first outdoor game ever. Great on the attendance record. It's a big weekend in Happy Valley with men's wrestling tonight at the big arena and men's hockey tomorrow at Beaver Stadium. Walsh is stepping up and hopefully can build on this.

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

I think it will be more memorable than fun for the players. Coach Newkirk sure looks cold in that photo. But, I don't think it is lost on the players and coaches that is momentous getting to play in Beaver Stadium. And the team will be minus three Olympians so the game plan will have to be a...

Big stuff that PSU has its first USA hockey Olympian. And it is no small feat that Hall made the Swedish Team and Fantin made the Italian team. Best of luck to all three.

Desa played today against a hapless Delaware squad. That signals at least to me that Desa must be healthy again if the coaches decided to trot her out for this game. Delaware lost a combined 12-0 this weekend. The third period of the second game was filled with roughing and body check...

Kampersal and his assistants have the program in good shape. The team is not firing on all cylinders after the break... Yet. Campbell played tonight. Maybe a Hernick sighting tomorrow? Outwater just broke Janecke's record for most goals scored by a PSU sophomore.

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

Outwater has tied Janecke for most goals as a Sophomore and she missed three games after the break. That's saying something - like Team Canada needs to open their eyes. I wonder if goalies are going to be alternated here on out to keep Desa fresh and healthy for the post season? Penn State...

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

That is the type of win that was expected in the first game. However, it's nice to know that PSU can win a 1-0 game and then a 5-1 game a couple weeks later against Cornell. Fantin made the Italian Olympic team. Don't forget the outside game coming up.

Katie DeSa was not listed on the lineup for the fourth-straight game with an undisclosed injury. Matilde Fantin also wasn’t in the lineup as she is practicing with the Italian national team ahead of the upcoming Olympic Games. Campbell is filling in for Desa nicely.

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

The coaching staff has some work to do on figuring out lines and pairings with the three players being out for the Olympics. Perhaps there should be a Janecke, Fantin and Hall line in Syracuse tonight so that the other lines can be figured out when PSU has to play without those three...

Good for the AHA with Mercyhurst winning in ot and bad for PSU. Mercyhurst is always ready to turn the tables on PSU.

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

Outwater was back from injury. Desa must still have her injury. Fantin received a game misconduct the last game and I'm not sure if it carried over and maybe it did. Campbell does not lack confidence.

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

My eyebrows were raised when Cornell outshot PSU and evidently it carried over to three days later. OSU is good though.

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

PSU was handled easily by OSU 5-1. Kampersal usually has the team better prepared for game 2, so tomorrow will be telling. Campbell comes in again in the third period after Desa shuts out Cornell, but gave up five in two periods against OSU. Campbell didn't give up any goals in the third. The...

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

No Outwater..... I wonder what's going on with her. PSU fan has been banging the drum on Fantin and Fantin pots the game winner in a 1-0 win. PSU was outshot by three. Janecke with three straight faceoff wins against three different players as the Cornell coach was searching for somebody that...

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

The ECAC with their befuddling Tuesday night games. Penn State has a challenging 6 game stretch coming up with Cornell, OSU x2, Cornell and then Mercyhurst x 2. The high ranking is on the line. I am expecting a 2-1 shot disparity over Cornell, but Bergemans is a brick wall. PSU has a pretty...

    Minnesota Women's Hockey 2025-26

Only Big Ten Schools with that big football money would be able to pay him comparable to Minnesota. I don't think there are any openings at PSU, OSU or Wisconsin. Maybe he would follow Fargo to the PWHL?

    2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

Butze is having a nice senior year - second in d scoring with 17 pts and first in blocks with 32. I think she will be following Lobdell to the PWHL and she is kind of following Lobdell 's progression of ending up as a complete d.

Desa has been racking up the awards. The team can go as far as Desa takes them. Janecke had a goal with USA hockey last night and continues to make Penn Staters proud. I agree with Bartowski although it is never smart to look past archrival Mercyhurst. Great link for tickets.
