    I heard there is someone taking the spot vacated by Evaschesen so maybe that’s the delay? Rumour is it’s someone who was on the team last season but wasn’t going to be back this season but was still enrolled at RPI.

    Just for fun, looking at our schedule, anyone want to take a stab at predicting our record this season? I know we’ve improved a ton but I feel like a lot of other teams have as well. The talent level is definitely higher but we do lack college hockey experience. Curious how that all shakes out.

    Gotta say it’s a little disappointing we don’t have any commits from this new cycle. Lots of our ECAC counterparts do. Quinnipiac, Harvard, Cornell, Princeton, Yale, Union, Brown. Be nice to land a couple decent recruits soon here.

    Agreed. When I first heard he might be turning pro I assumed it was ECHL. Pretty surprised that a 20 year old ppg player in the WHL would be worthy of an AHL contract. I don’t really know how these contracts work but maybe he does spend most of his time in the ECHL.

    That’s a more positive way of looking at it! That aside, I think we’ll be hard pressed to find a replacement as impactful as Smith could/would have been. I wonder if this opens the door for a current commit to come in this season or if Laing looks for someone else.
