    I don't know if it was the fact that beer cannot be sold during the NCAA tournament, or the fact that the host team didn't even qualify for the tournament, but the 2017 D3 Frozen Four was such an utter disappointment for the student athletes.     I suspect he probably only had opportunities at Atlantic Hockey schools or to be number 3 on the depth chart at ECAC or CCHA type schools. Hobart was a better option/opportunity.     Conferences do not even have to hold post season tournaments. They could just award their regular season champion the AQ if that's what they decided to do. Big 10 basketball did it this way up until like 10 years ago.
