    Movies 2026: Shame and Money

Watched "Good Luck Have Fun Don't Die" last night. Trippy as heck. Really holds a magnifying glass up against current things in regards to AI and our collective obsession with social media and technology. Starring Sam Rockwell doing Sam Rockwell things and just being amazing.

TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

I generally agree though there are a few shows I personally enjoy that do have laugh tracks/live audience reactions. Seinfeld and NewsRadio are the 2 sitcoms I can think of. Though NewsRadio supposedly only used live audience reactions and no actual track.

The Generic Racism Thread 1: Lift Every Voice and Sing

Fighting against an Israeli who wants everyone to know that he was not found guilty of (g)raping a minor. It was just SAing a minor that he was found guilty of.

Hobbies - A thread for other things we kill time doing.

I should post some pics from the instruction booklet which talks about how each addition was made and during what time period. I also have several pics taken as I was building it and it it is kind of interesting to like build the pieta and choir area towards the front (back from the outside...

The thread for birds and birding

I was up in the mountains over the weekend and got to get a few photos of a bird I really like, Clark's Nutcracker. Named after William Clark of Lewis and Clark fame, the Clark's Nutcracker may be a little misnamed because they don't really crack any nuts, instead the feed by pulling pine seeds...

TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

I did the same thing. Thought he was mad because he was expecting something to be bad. Once I did realize what you were talking about, I remembered seeing a short clip from this but didn't really think about it. I also see Scoot McNairy is in it. He's been in some other shows where I really...

Hobbies - A thread for other things we kill time doing.

My birthday gift to myself this year: Notre Dame de Paris Lots of repetitive steps in this one but still very cool. You build this in the same order it was built in real life. So instead of just ground up, you start from the bottom at the "back" and then work up, then forward to the next...

USCHO Cooks: Are you our Top Chef?

Did some experimenting the past few weeks with different accompaniments to fish dishes. I enjoyed each. Pics below: Pic 1 - Snapper with a lemon-basil cream. I steeped basil in heavy cream for a bit and then decided to just puree it all together with an immersion blender. Strained that to...

    The Dead Thread 2024

Just read a little about this. Dr Jobe himself is the one who decided to call it Tommy John surgery. He credits a lot of the success to Tommy John's own dedication to rehabilitation and the fact that it actually worked for him. Dr Jobe actually didn't publish his findings for 12 years after he...

    Basketball 2017

I've often wondered about if this was happening in sports with a salary cap. I bet there are many more players that are doing this than we know about. I saw Draymond Green say that if Leonard and the Clips aren't punished, then they should just do away with the salary cap because "it works for...

2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

Notice I said "not all". But I bet if one were to present many of the parts to voters individually, they would be on board with far more than anything the right, liberals, or "center" are proposing. YOU may not believe in those few specific parts, but I bet you are a lot closer to the other...

2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

The platform IS a winning platform. When asked about many of the types of things (not all) contained in the DSA platform individually, people consistently say they are on board and love the ideas. I have seen it over and over. But, as soon as they hear the word socialism, they back away. The...

    Iran So Far Away: 2026

For what it's worth, Meidas is quoting a Military Times article. From what I can find, Military Times (founded in 1940) is considered an independent source and is usually considered a quite factual source with little, if any, bias.

Gun control 2 : happy 25th anniversary of Columbine

Updated to 7 injured (amazing it wasn't more) and 3 dead (still not sure if the shooter is considered one of the 3). An off duty state trooper and civilian both returned fire. Sounds like the did not hit the shooter but it may have helped distract him from being able to hit more. An In-n-Out...

Gun control 2 : happy 25th anniversary of Columbine

I was up the mountains out of cell range today and when I got back into cell service, I started getting a bunch of texts in a friend group of "We are safe." Pulled over and saw that Twin Falls Idaho where I live had a mass shooting event this afternoon. Someone opened fire in a busy commercial...
