UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

It's not unexpected that a couple guys would sign pro deals. I'd be more worried about a potential issue if some players we aren't expecting to leave end up hitting the portal.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Men's and women's basketball averaged about 1,100 per game this season. Anything larger is overkill.

I'm a bit surprised Josh didn't play himself into more than a 1 year offer with them (especially after turning that same offer down last season). Wish him the best either way, the timing feels right for him to leave. Don't like rooting for the Habs but hope he can carve out a nice role with them.

I was wondering the same thing. Figure he will at some point. Was glad to see former Black Bear Felix Trudeau sign a deal with the Blues though.

Maine Recruits: When Ashes Fall, Legends Rise

Wonder if it makes sense to add Ricards Tralmaks (LINK) to the uncommitted section as well. Eduards was a Red guy but can't hurt to keep tabs on him just in case.

You can count me squarely in the camp of thinking Barr isn't a flight risk to leave, even for a spot like Minnesota.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I read into it more as probably not so many young players all at once (if avoidable), and to be better prepared to acclimate them to what a jump it is from juniors to college. It sounds like Barr kind of owned that he wasn't ready for that and it caused a lot of growing pains throughout the...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I saw enough from Lipinski this season that I'd want him back next year. Won draws at the highest rate on the team at 61% (which was T-4th highest in the nation) and that was much needed. His defensive metrics were also pretty strong, if he actually leans more into his size and adds some more...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I know I'm not alone in thinking that Komarov would take a step forward this year. His play driving fell off a cliff as he got exposed to more meaningful minutes this year and his defense also took a hit. Pichette and Gerrior were both very effective players so if Barr can add to the offensive...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

If the incoming class next year starts with Mistelbacher, Voronin, Lafton, and Calvert that's really good in my eyes. Not sure where Barr is going to look to bolster the center position, but we definitely need some play drivers there (Scholle and Komarov aren't it IMO). I do wonder if Maine will...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Team had a couple good chances but the lack of bonafide finishers is apparent. Hoping for a third period BC meltdown to make the drive down here worth it. Not feeling great about those prospects right now tho.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

The rebuild could have been even worse coming into this season as well if Nadeau had taken the one-year deal Montreal offered him. Maine is probably nowhere near the NCAA bubble if that happens and all this hand-wringing about missed opportunities is completely moot. Even factoring in a down...

Grabbed tickets to the game for Friday.

Same here I was trying to grab a couple but it keeps giving me an error.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Maine has had a powerplay edge in 11 games, 16 games where the other team had more, and 7 games where they were even.

Laying a total egg tonight. Might wanna give Boija some action the rest of the night so he's not completely cold (just in case).

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

It is funny how far we've come in regards to logos, compared to the days of Walsh demanding BC forfeit a game because the manufacturer's logos were too big on their pants (for anyone who remembers that incident in the 89/90 season)
