UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Actually I'd say you clearly don't know what you're talking about. I looked at the last 5 years and found TWO instances of players leaving early for an AHL deal (outside of Nadeau and Djurasevic of course). Nick Rheaume left Northeastern and Bradley Marek left Ferris. That's it. Boija turned...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Their contract wouldn't fall under the NHLPA since it's not an NHL deal

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I think it's quite unexpected for players to sign a non-NHL level deal before their eligibility is up. I don't know the exact numbers, but my guess is that a college player has left early for only an AHL deal less than 10 times in the last 5 years. Maine now has two in the same offseason

They dream of playing in the AHL?

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

What is going on at Maine that two different players leave early for minor league deals?

    RPI Recruit Thread 2025-2026

Question for you as the CHL expert: what is considered good goaltending? He has a combined 0.907 SV% on the year, which is good for 5th in the league, so I assume he's considered pretty good. I have no idea how to contextualize the numbers though, and he's not Penticton's full time #1 as you noted.

UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

One thing I want to add. Lots of valid points I've seen about UNH being underfunded and resourced, which is why Souza has been unsuccessful. I have no doubts that it is all true. That can be true at the same time as Souza needing to go, however. Coaches who are doing a good job don't go out and...

UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

More history, better conference, better recruiting, more success (despite the last few years). Dartmouth is making its first tournament appearance since 1980. At Dartmouth, just making the tourney is history making. If you actually want to win, seems to be way easier to do at UNH

UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

Dartmouth (and many of the Ivies) historically have never cared about athletics, so I wouldn't think his salary is super high. No way of knowing that for sure though

UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

RPI fan here but if I'm UNH, I go all in on Reid Cashman at Dartmouth and force him to say no. He's about to bring them to the first tourney appearance since the 80s. Incredible coach

RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

Agreed on all points. Unfortunately, it's the way it is now. Although next year, I expect we will at least have McNeil who came in as a freshman still graduating with us. I think that the coaching change is the main driver there, not necessarily college sports. Our program will be much more...

RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

Two big quotes from his appearance on Rodger Wyland today. "Our finish was our finish, but that's nowhere near the standard here." On players returning for next year: "If we can upgrade, we're going to upgrade." Also mentioned all 4 coaches are out on the recruiting trail the next 1-2 weeks and...
