I just say "if accurate" as these days anyone can print anything - I have no reason to doubt it. So yes - if the new language closes a loophole that is great - I suspect the intention of the prior language was to be exactly as you describe. What’s also ironic is that the most “pro life” people (I prefer anti-choice as the term) are also the most against sex education etc that could actually reduce unwanted pregnancy.- Boston_E

So you think the amended Mass law is too restrictive? (Note: I’m about as pro choice a it gets, but I can understand and acknowledge third trimester discussions) (Also note - in practice I have no idea how many, if any, happen in the third trimester for non-medical reasons)- Boston_E

It doesn't really seem like it although it is easy to be unreasonable on the internet. I'd guess if we were all in a room watching hockey and talking politics we would find us all pretty reasonable.- Boston_E

Perhaps the change is more than symbolic so great, it just reads like a distinction without a difference to my non-lawyer eye. What would be a condition that would meet the “discretion of the physician” that is also not a life, physical or mental health situation)? From my quick look up it appears the prior law also had exceptions for fetal health conditions as well, not just the mothers. The clinic/hospital change...- Boston_E

I have not read the changes. I'm very much pro-choice. With that said i don't think it is unreasonable to have some guidelines and restrictions in the later stages . Edit: Just read it - seems largely symbolic. Changed from "exceptions for life, physical and mental health of the mother" to...- Boston_E
