The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Why, indeed! Because MS7 gave up on our last Tyler and look what happened. Here is a chance for MS7 to make up up for that mistake by going with another goalie named Tyler. But, more seriously, I think that >0.900 sv%’s the past the past three seasons on an atrocious team is commendable. And...
Brown’s goalie Tyler Shea has entered the transfer portal with one more year of eligibility. His stats last year: 3.26 GAA, 0.911 sv%, 3-20-2 in 26 games and 1474 minutes. Maybe MS7 can use his Brown connections to reel this guy in?
We are playing checkers while Katharina is playing chess.
Ok, I think my brother solved this one as the Wisconsin Badgers women just won their ninth Div 1 Natty.
If UNH is planning an external search for a new AD hire, I think that it is probably too late for this July 1. So, if UNH were planning to replace Rich, which I still doubt, they would likely need to go with an interim AD for a year, which may or may not be good news for MS7’s contract renewal...
Orrrrr …….. maybe MS7 can follow the career path of Scotty Botek, with seven years assistant coach in ECAC, three years head coach in Div 3, six years head coach in CCHA (two winning seasons), 13 years assistant/associate coach in Hockey East, three years assistant in Hockey East, seven years...
Will Rick Gotkin, 27 years head coach at Mercyhurst, need to step down from the six-member NCAA Div 1 Men’s Ice Hockey Oversight Championship Committee?
I know that you will enjoy the FF in Lost Wages, HockeyRef.
I had a longtime colleague and friend who invited me to join the Hockey-L list serve before this USCHO Fan Forum became a thing. A sub-group from Hockey-L always attended the FF regardless the teams there each year and organized a...
Yeah, I agree now, NPI or PWR, makes no difference. Just a bad season all around for Hockey East teams, in contrast to just one season earlier. “We’ll get ‘em next year.”
As others have mentioned, ECAC has zero interest in reformulating itself, even with its shorter schedule length for the Ivies. And Quinnipiac, Bentley, and Holy Cross have zero interest in joining Hockey East. Atlantic Hockey will be fine with nine or even eight teams. With Quinnipiac the only...
I do not think that any of MS7’s losses come close to the Umileation’s of the Niagara and RIT postseason losses as no one should have expected anything but losses to NU this season and to Maine in 2024.
Yeah, I mostly retracted my second sentence as they did a good job placing the #2 and #3 seeds to maximize attendance, although as someone else pointed out they only had to flip two of those schools from a pure NPI bracket standpoint.
Agreed. And on a closer look, there is not a big difference in records of the eight #2 and #3 seeds and it looks like the Committee made an effort to maximize attendance, which I think is import’ant for the regionals.
No, da “Committee” played it straight up in protecting the #1 seeds in the first semifinal games. But I think that they made up for it by some ridiculous match ups in the second semifinal games in each regional.
