The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Although I do not disagree with any of the points made here, I must ask if UNH has had any hockey players major in Earth/marine science, or any physical science program? I recall that the football team’s field goal kicker in the late 1960’s Kurt Volbhurst (spelling?) was a geology major.
Our ice hockey teams may stink, but at least our advanced all-women’s cheerleading team won their fourth Div 1 national championship at the NCA’s (National Cheerleading Association) in Daytona Beach last week!
Maybe we will see MS7 making weekly pressers this coming season? Or is that a bridge too far?
Does another 20-win season without a Garden visit or a NCAA regional get MS7 another three-year contract extension?
Now we definitely need to poach Tyler Shea from Brown so that MS7 can say that he grabbed the best portal player from each of the two worst teams in ECAC this past season.
I think that Jack Stockfish from Holy Cross would be a good get. I have watched him play against Bentley in several games the past three seasons and he seemed to be on the ice all the time, first line center, PK, PP, and Captain. Good size at 6’4”, good at the dot, and 87 points over the past...
Fortunately, or unfortunately, we do not have any players that the BiG10 wants to lure away with NIL.
MS7 goal for 2026/27 season: stay one point ahead of UVM in the final HEA regular season standings.
Agreed, after three years at Babson, Ryan Black played his 2022/23 senior season at UNH when he was sixth highest scorer (5+8=13) on a team that scored only 74 goals, an all-time low until this season, I think. Chase Stevenson also had a surprisingly good season in 2022/23.
Since Fortney’s great goal, I think that there were a few very good moments followed by not so great moments when we beat Cornell in Albany at the 2010 regionals before getting embarrassed by RIT, beat Miami in Manchvegas at the 2011 regionals before getting umiliated by NICC, beat DU (the...
I think that you are correct, Felger. Maybe she flew out with the team?
Also, my guess is that she only mispronounced Dick’s last name that one time. Maybe nervous while riding on the Zamboni?
Did anyone notice that former UNH president Joan Leitzel (1996-2002) passed on March 5, 2026? She was UNH president for three Cats’ FF appearances but did not know much about hockey before she arrived at UNH from stops at Nebraska and Ohio State where she was a football fan. So she hired Charlie...
