Enjoy your win over UNE, but be prepared for the maelstrom generated by the Statesmen this Saturday.;)
As a Giants fan, I was there for the Giants win in Green Bay in 2008. The Packer fans were cussing the season ticket holder in abstentia that had scalped the tickets that we sat in. I was...
Yes Ukraine, Russia and even France that year. .The Ukrainian(Buzoverya) and the Russian(Malakyan) were interviewed by the student paper and gave some interesting personal perspectives on the war . The two students were very friendly on campus and were glad to be playing hockey in the USA but...
February 26, 2022 Hobart lost to Skidmore 2-3 at THE COOLER in the NEHC playoffs. We still made the NCAA tournament and lost our last tournament game that same year. If Hobart and Utica both win next weekend we'll see you in Utica. Good luck..
Coach Taylor has told the team they haven't earned anything yet, just the opportunity to play SNC. Streaks and records don't mean shit now. They anticipated this matchup and will be ready to play all three periods and OT if necessary. You gotta love this .
I was there. This Hobart team is better, and those Pointers were tough. Our goalies(either one) and defense will not give up 5 goals like UNE did. last night. The Green Knight defenders will also be challenged .
I lost the feed to this game....St.Norbert won 5-4 with 2 last minute goals by each team???? I can tell you the camera equipment at THE COOLER is way better than whatever was going on at St. Norbert tonight. Now the comfort level of the stands at THE COOLER....not so much. Can't wait for the game.
Very impressive coach with an unbelievable record. My guess is that Coach Cogiin and Coach Taylor will meet next week in Geneva, NY. for a classic .Good luck this weekend.
Oz, nice
"they heard Statesmen was your nickname and said, "they must be one of us...". 😀. The SUNYAC is a very nice home for the Skatesmen, I'm sure all boats will rise in the league . Honestly, I think we are only as good as our coach and the environment he has built, so I'm just going to...

Great point Russell. HWS and Skidmore are in the Liberty league which is a great D3 league for all sports. But RPI, RIT, Clarkson and SLU and Union all are D1 hockey, so what would be an awesome D3 hockey league has no remaining critical mass for the remaining D3 teams So HWS hockey teams were...
So, Hobart plays the winner of St.Norbert v UNE. This should be a great matchup, although playing at St.Norbert will be really tough for UNE. Hobart has played both of these teams in the NCAAs.Hobart lost to St.Norbert in the 2006 semis at Elmira that was decided in OT . Good luck to both...
Thank you JSlicedog for your input. Not sure what is motivating this "member". I can tell you that recruiting good players and teaching them the system , as well as dedicating themselves to fitness so they can outlast everyone in the third period or overtime are the keys. I've seen quite a few...
Ah yes, great post, Donald R. DeCicco('75) was a real student(I actually knew Donnie) , he was a third string goalie on the Hockey Club. .........really.He received a great tuition package not because he was a good hockey player, but because he was geographically desirable for the Foreign...
Sour grapes post, implying Hobart Hockey has bought the team. For what gain? Because we make so much money from the $5 dollars for every patron (800 capacity), because we use a municipal rink that D3 hockey visitors mock, or maybe because we have no local NIL deals like a Utica star player has...
