    Salve and the NESCAC performing so well OOC threw a wrench into the formula. Last year was the first year using NPI and there were no issues about the ranking. The final 4 consisted of 4 of the top 5 NPI teams going into the tournament.

    There is math that can justify it, it’s the NPI. Not that I agree with it, it is clear this year that no bad losses > beating good teams.     D3 schools CHL rule change

    I think we will see a lot more USHL players and D1 transfers than CHL players. I don’t think many CHL players will waste their time with D3 when they can stay at home and play USports for free.

    Endicott didn’t move in the NPI. Adrian won and went from 7 to 5. UNE did not play and went from 5 to 6. Salve did not play and went from 6 to 7. There was nothing too surprising from the NPI tonight.

    I don't think so. They were scrambling to fill out their schedule last minute and named their head coach 3 weeks before the season started. This wasn't some calculated play from them. This didn't become a real possibility until early January when Schultz from Geneseo called them out mid-game...

    Thanks for the clarification. The general consensus here is that the NPI does not work for hockey, D3 especially. Mostly due to the lack of east/west matchups.
