The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
The issue here is that millions of $$ wouldn't have been raised, the AHA wouldn't have visited with UU and Aud officials, etc. if there were no legs to it. Hell, other athletic teams were being told by their coaching staffs that they were moving up to D2. Like I said earlier, if there was no...
I also say this with 100 percent seriousness, I am far more educated on the situation than you. If the last president stayed, Utica would be D1 right now. Your subtle jabs are cute.
It very much can be true. If I have $50,000 to my name and want to buy a $49,000 car, the money is there but it probably isn't a wise move at the time.
You are either not understanding or attempting to twist the argument. The money is there, they could move forward tomorrow if they wanted to. It was claimed here that they didn't have the money, which is factually incorrect.
Russ claimed they didn't have the money. They did have the money, but it would have put them in too much of an uncomfortable position for them to accept moving forward. The last president was okay with moving forward, the new president wasn't. Unsure what drives you to try and talk down...
They did have the money, that is where you are wrong. It would have put an extreme strain on the school's already struggling finances, but it was do-able. There is a wide belief that if not for the change in school presidency, they would be D1 right now as Casamento was fully on board.
Like I said, it’s Utica vs Everybody. If Utica was to ever win a championship this forum would melt. All of your material would vanish and you would be forced to crawl back into a hole.
There was millions of dollars raised in the D1 effort. It was a real thing and I know you know this. The only...
Relax Russ. You will be okay.
I will say your spite for Utica is somewhat funny at this point though. You’ve been against them ever since I can remember. But, you will speak positively about any other team. Its funny, and reaks of jealousy to be honest. Utica vs Everybody.
What about my comment is insecure? I couldn’t care less. And yes, most of those season tickets are corporate sponsors that don’t show. The only time everyone shows up is for the Teddy Bear Toss. It has been that way for years.
Every single team that sells season tickets does the same thing. Oswego, Plattsburgh, you name it. The only time there is 4,000 in the rink is the Teddy Bear Toss and NCAA tournament games.
There was a sizeable gap between the top 4 in the NPI and St Norbert/Geneseo prior to this weekend. I think it was a 2 point difference if I remember, which is far too large to make up in 1 game.
It wouldn't affect recruiting at all. Hobart, St. Norbert, Adrian, SP, and Utica already get the best recruits. Its why they are at the top every year.
I would rather the tournament be the 14 best teams in the country. Not the 11 or 12 best teams and 2 or 3 that got lucky.
I don’t fully agree with Fish, but I do find it mind numbing that teams like Fitchburg State, MCLA,Gustavus are going to be in the tournament over teams like Trine or Adrian. How can anyone think that is fair
Yes I am sure that would fly with Utica and Geneseo. Two teams who are always in the top 10 waiting on bids while Fitchburg State and Gustavus get a freebie.
