    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

As expected, season tickets on sale this morning. A $25 'service fee' on top of the ticket price.

"Electrify" in a curious and interesting user; I noticed the account a couple weeks ago. It was created April 9, 2026, and if I counted correctly, the "acitivity" the web site shows for the account consists of two comments, and 16 'reactions' to other peoples' posts. Just above is the second of...

    Wisniewski out at Ohio State

June 11 isn't "a couple months ago", and you gave no reason or explanation as to HOW you supposedly knew, or why we should believe you.

    Wisniewski out at Ohio State

That post makes reference to "Ohio State University's career site". That is where I had been looking. I first looked there on July 12; maybe the opening had been posted there prior to that, but was already pulled down by July 12. I don't see anything on the zip-recruiter page that indicates...

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

BU has their 2026-27 schedule posted, and it shows the series in Madison as being Thursday Oct 1, and Friday Oct 2. Because that is homecoming weekend, with football vs Michigan State Saturday (and possibly Sat night?) (UW Volleyball also at home on Thursday Oct 1. Dammit!)

There is a web site called "VolleyTalk", and trust me, there are a good number of UW fans posting there who feel very much that same way about what the athletic department has been doing with seating and ticket prices since the national championship in 2021.

It was, or may become, an instance of the phenomenon you were describing. When I started going to VB, they were not using the upper deck in the Field House, meaning they were not coming close to selling out just the 4K capacity of the lower seats. As the team got really, consistently good...

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

I looked that up and 'realized' the 'circumstance' all the way back before last season. But I didn't want to bring it up, because I have trouble conjuring up an explanation that's "any of my business" to be told or have explained to me ...

    Wisniewski out at Ohio State

Once more, if you want me to believe the claims you make, tell me HOW you come to know the thing you are claiming. I am not impressed by "I know something you don't" posts. And if you can't say, or are not supposed to say how you know something, then simply don't say it. You said "Beaudette not...

UW volleyball was only about 50/50 on sell-outs last season. Always still good-sized crowds, but fewer full sell-outs.

"Beaudette not coming" IYKYK ... except when you don't.

    Wisniewski out at Ohio State

Some actual news here: the 2026-27 roster page is now up, and Wisniewski is NOT listed on it. (The OSU Ministry of Truth has not delisted him from the 2025-26 roster page ... yet.) (But still no job listing for the open position of the University's "Careers" page, though they did post one for...

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

$272 for general admission, up from $192 last year. That's $16 per game for SEVENTEEN games; a backdoor way of confirming Ohio State at Lambeau? Last year was $12 per game, so a 33% increase. Reserved sections expanded to sections 3,4,5, and 14. Last year they had announced 3,4,5 and then 5...

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

I understand, there's only so many numbers to go around. But they're 'recycling' some pretty big ones, big 'skates' to fill: Harvey, Eden, Roque, Knight, Carolyn Prevost. I see the numbers and the names immediately pop into my head. Traditions live on, and get added to. (I remember when #23 Kim...

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

... unless they have gotten their degree, and want to go to the PWHL instead of playing the 5th year. For example, had it happened a year earlier, would KK and/or Laila and/or Simms have stayed for a 5th year? This will be similar to the "extra COVID year", in that there will be a sort-of...

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

You can see the timing of it all in the 2024-25 comment thread: ticket sales started July 30 - with the price increase commented on, of course - while the Wrigley games (men as well) announced on Aug 14 or 15 (making the price increase all the worst, because one fewer game; Wrigley was not...

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

Just a heads-up and a guess: last year, ticket sales started on July 28th - a Monday - with no prior notice at all. The comparable date this year would be a week from tomorrow, but I guess tomorrow is also a possibility. (Here's hoping that there is no expansion of the "reserved seating" sections.)

    Wisniewski out at Ohio State

This week, they added a listing looking for a new women's Lacrosse coach. Sadly, the vacancy in their women's hockey program goes unfilled, and unposted.

    2026 Coaching Changes

A list complied by USCHO says that 23 of the 45 DI schools average more than 500 per game. Syracuse was 43rd of those 45, averaging 160 per home game. The internet says the capacity of their rink is only 350.

    2026 Coaching Changes

I got into a back-and-forth on Twitter with some guy who was trashing Idalski as a coach, based only on his year in the PWHL. That prompted me to have a look at the Syracuse roster, who is back this coming year, what they gained and lost in the portal etc (as best I could tell, anyway). Goalie...
