The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Bentley/Holy Cross or the independents are probably on the schedule regardless, because we almost never have to agree to a home and home to make it happen. Any western team most likely replaces the Colgates or RPIs
Was this a numbers crunch from a transfer portal addition or are we actually getting the rug pulled out from under us by Lowell? Either way, neither top forward recruit making it to Orono is concerning.
It's hard to say. I doubt the City gets up to watch the kids opposed to pros. Hockey makes good family entertainment on winter weekends and there are only so many available dates. I personally would prefer the Q team, but with the bias of it being a potential pipeline to Orono.
The NCAA is looking to change to a 5-year eligibility clock instead of 4 years with redshirts and other loopholes. This move is preemptive of that. It's unclear guys in his shoes get eligibility or not though.
I agree with most of what you said. I would push back on $40k-$80k not tipping the scales. That may be true once he actually is making pro money, but that kind of cash goes a long way for a young kid. Especially in a college town. Think of how many rum buckets at OHOP that would buy.
That...
So far I've got 13 returning (excludes JP) and 7 transfers. There's no real way to know which freshman are coming until it's announced. Petter Wickstrom Stumer is a designated student athlete though so he will not count against the roster cap.
I tend not to put too much weight on +/- but it's at least a mild concern. That said, I watched one ASU game all year so I have no clue how he was deployed.

Some ASU fan put together a highlight reel from his OHL career. The guys spends a lot of time...
I was actually looking at him over lunch! He has the size and the right handed shot I've been looking for, but finished with the second worst +/- on ASU last season.
He's got decent size to him and has 10+ goals all three years. I'm not overwhelmed but there's enough to be excited about.
Plus his younger brother is a decent D apparently. He's currently committed to UND but that means nothing nowadays.
