With tonight's 7-1 Exhibition win over Lethbridge, the season is truly almost here!
Coming off the best season in school history, the Mavericks open play this weekend against Providence. This is an important season for Minnesota State, as they should be able to build off last year and be even...
24 wins this year, double the total from last year, and a school record. We'll look to improve on that next year.

Well, a tough draw for the Mavericks, but I don't know if it's worse than playing BC or at UNH.
Minnesota State needs to get healthy and should be well rested after a loss to Wisconsin in which their team defense and goaltending, two staples of this team, looked horrendous.
No idea what to...
UAA has 5 points in 16 games in league play. The Mavericks have 16 in 16 games played. This series, with no offense to UAA, is a MUST SWEEP for Minneaota State. Plain and simple. Make the long trip north and west, get two wins, and get home. Keep the rodents out of your heads until next week, boys.
Since the Mavericks swept the Badgers in Madison, both teams have gone 14-1-3. It'll be a different series.
If the Mavericks want to really compete for a top 4 spot, three is necessary and four would be huge at home.
Both teams coming off a split. Both teams would greatly benefit from a sweep. I'm seeing a split here, but boy would four points this weekend go a long ways.
This link is truly amazing, and such a great tribute to one of our country's finest. Warning, this is emotional.

Tonight officially kicks off the Mike Hastings era of Maverick Hockey.
Here's Shane's article from this morning's free press: http://mankatofreepress.com/sports/x1149575739/Hastings-has-coached-with-the-best
I will be at tonight's game and give a breakdown of what I see, etc.
Looking forward...
