The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I suspect with his ego, he couldn't help himself.
I wonder if he has any regrets, as he draws a paycheck as the "Special Advisor to the Athletics Department" at Colgate, for destroying a once nationally relevant hockey program to its current moribund state
Would still have a job if you performed as abysmally as MS7 for eight consecutive years? Doubt it.
Additionally, show me where I've said a specific player didn't deserve a scholarship. You can't because I've said no such thing.
I appreciate the offer but I will not volunteer my time or open my checkbook to UNH Hockey above and beyond the cost of season tickets until MS7 is removed as coach.
Many STHs
The event isn't open to the public. Parents of players have shared that they aren't even invited to play or volunteer. This was confirmed by no less than six sets of parents and a number of older players.
Not really. It's exactly what BU did when it eliminated football in 1997 and shifted budget to "nationally competitive" sports, i.e. hockey. UVM also cut football in 1995 to focus on hockey and basketball.
That's just in Hockey East. Learn your history.
Or, is he a UNH Athletic Department mole planted to sow division and chaos amongst STHs?
Misinformation campaign to distract from the obvious dysfunction.
Why can't we get players like that?
The more appropriate question is what is MS7 doing to drive these prime recruits away and transfer once they arrive in Durham....
In the 1880s, Pot Roast would have worked bankers hours. In 2026, as a government employed bureaucrat, his hours of operation have only marginally expanded to 10:00-15:30. Any labor or cogent thought after 16:00 is simply unfathomable to someone who has never worked in the private sector.
Interesting that the fans lost the power and influence of The Friends of UNH Hockey, but the UNH Alumni Association and the HEA whisper network default to supporting the status quo and a functionally incompetent coach in MS7.
I'm curious if UNH Hockey is nothing more than a pawn of tax payer...
Lavins decommited from SCS because, as a 20 yr old in the USHL, he thought he was ready for D1 hockey while SCS wanted him to play another year in juniors. This disagreement is the root cause of Marty decommitting and ultimately coming to Durham.
It had NOTHING to do with scholarship money.
I suppose my main criticism is now the ease of transferring compared to historical norms.
Now that "Covid Years" are a thing of the past and the portal will now only be open for ten days in May, let's hope the team hopping will slow.
There was always something to be said about having to sit...
While my feelings in Conmy are well documented, he is a talented player. A 6th round pick may or may not pan out in the pros, but he certainly was a major contributor to UNH. Sidarian was trapped in a system which clearly did not work for him at UNH and transferred to MT with a coach who used...
A few years ago, there was a post game event for STHs and this question was asked, "Why did you come to UNH?"
The answers were not surprising. "They wanted me." "It was the only school that offered a scholarship in D1"
Like it or not, one of the reasons why we haven't seen a mass exodus in...
Are you watching the same team as the rest of us? Over the course of MS7's tenure, I can think of at least two dozen games where the team simply gave up and just went through the motions.
That's a failure of leadership, both from the coaching staff and the captains, who may or may not be voted...
