UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

From CHN's notes, Jay Ahearn needs 2 points to reach 100 in his collegiate career.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

It's weird with college sports. If this was a professional team, I'd be furious that the coach is still here. Being college, and being Lowell, I know they don't have the money or "name" to be able to compete for the NCAA Championship each and every year, so I guess I'm more forgiving. But I...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

At this point, I don't know how anyone can defend a 12-31-5 record at home the last three seasons.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

7th time they've been shutout this year, which isn't a team record you want to establish, and there are at least 4 more games to go.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Just to give credit where it's due, after a rough start to the season Lowell MBB has been doing alright recently. Another good win tonight.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

We haven't had much optimism on this thread this year, so I'll admit that was nice to read.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

The two defensemen above Grumley are both '05s, while he's an '07. So that's a good sign. Jones stats continue to get worse, which isn't a good sign.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Finally a weekend sweep. Move up to 8th in HE (every team below us does have a game or two in hand). 4 games left, 3 at home.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Outshot 35-23, but Lowell gets the win up at UVM 4-2 tonight. Fell down 1-0, but then tied the game before the end of the first and scored three straight in the third to take a 4-1 lead before UVM added another. The first Lowell goal was a highlight reel passing goal, and the second and third...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

In the most recent Sun article, Lowell's Jacob MacDonald had surgery and is done for the season.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Just screwing around for a minute and looking at their commit list. If I was to make a few assumptions (Heisenberg is right on the expected date, using the earlier year if there are two listed and everyone without an incoming year, using the year they'd be 20 ... ie a 2007 DOB, I'm assuming 2027...

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

UMass has picked up three more since then. 36 commits is insane. Maine is up to 35.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Not really a flip since he was decommited already. But well, we'll get a chance to see him a few times and see if they made the right decision on the young man.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Alright, I'll preface this by saying that I love what Coach Bazin brought to the program. I love that he went to the school so it matters to him, and I enjoyed even being in a couple of classes with him (albeit he graduated 2 years before me). But I'm starting to see more comments about "it's...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Have some stuff going on, so wasn't able to make it last night. Did watch most of the game though. Fun to see a solid defensive performance and some well-timed goals. Can they get the weekend sweep? I'm hoping, but doubtful.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Prior to the season, I had noted there were a lot of question marks on this team, but I had hoped with this many new players, we'd be building something the second half of the year. I had looked particularly at this part of the schedule with a 5-game home stretch. We've gone 0-4 so far in that...

I'll say what I said the other week, they're still playing. They just aren't good enough.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Some of the HE programs that have succeeded recently brought in high level assistants who could recruit to man their HC jobs (UConn and Maine come to mind).

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Also, from today's Lowell Sun, the newest Lowell commit Franssen is probably coming in for 2027. He's rated 3.75, so the 2026 ranking when the changes I've mentioned go through would see us drop quite a bit from 31.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Take it for what it's worth to you, but here's NZ's recruiting class rankings (based on when they see the players coming in): Incoming Class of 2026, 31 of 63, but that still includes Kroll (3.75), Busch (3.5) and Romeo (3.75), the first of whom is already here and the other two decommited...
