The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Fortune favors the bold, although the Ivies academic entrance requirements may essentially "price" them out of the CHL market. Unfortunately, I predict that the ECAC will become a bit more bi-modal over the next few seasons. Will be interesting nonetheless.
As of today (5/20/25), 133 CHL players have committed to D1 schools for the 25'-26' season. With the lower roster limits, (and assuming these CHL kids will make their teams) that's 5+ full rosters that will be forced to play down this Fall should they wish to continue their careers in ice...
From painful experiences, the City of Geneva is one of the most intransigent organizations with whom I have ever had the displeasure of working. Even if Hobart had the money, and the will, getting anything passed through that morass would be a miracle.
Thought ya'll could use a bit of levity after a tough season.
Pfiffer used to work for the local paper here, has quite the imagination, and is very creative. In high school, I watched him streak the cafeteria, and literally eat a shot glass during lunch. He made about $200 from the 1000 or so...
An USD can buy a CAD for an historically low $0.69 today. The USD goes much further across the border. Perhaps this is the rationale a US kid would attend a Canadian U?
Conversely, do you believe a team that goes 22-0 in the RS, but loses to an 0-22 team in the conference tourney still deserves to get in? Just wondering.
Thanks to Ed Trefzger for the information. CHL kids are only eligible to play D1. It appears as though D3 is still off limits for anyone who has played in the CHL. Here is a link to the CollegeHockeyInc reference. My guess is that it's only a matter of time before someone sues to become...
Not sure who Advancement Hockey Advising is .... but they're recommending 3 DIII programs make the jump to D1. Video HERE. Doesn't appears as though they're aware of the issues with moving up a single sport to a different division.
I'm fairly certain that this development will push a bunch of marginal D1 athletes to D3! 2025 should be a hoot!

Several external factors have changed recently.
The recruiting sanctions on several prominent programs
The new (and revived) NCAA programs at both the D1 and D3 level
The shortening of the season
The uncertainty of the NAIA and D2 hockey
The decline of the Canadian dollar
The shift in dominance...
Now that most OOC games have been concluded, here's a history of the last 8 seasons. With the shake-up out West, these data most likely will not be valid after this season. Prof - I realize the 1st column is an average of averages, so please excuse the statistical ignorance.
League Avg 05-06...
Two Purple & Gold Scrimmage(s) will be held. One on Monday 10/15, the other on Tuesday 10/16 ... both at 7:30 at the MAC.
No roster has been posted yet on CHS.net (how teams can publish one before practice has begun is beyond me) but here is the link to the ECAC/W recruits complements of...
