The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Thanks for the analysis. Norm is French Canadian, and several of us here have wondered why he hasn’t leveraged that to recruit players from the Q up to this point.
Interesting. With the CHL eligible now the talent pool is as big as its ever been. Age restrictions might not hurt Lowell as much as they would in the past.
I'm assuming Bazin will be back. ScottK made a comment here recently saying he isn't going anywhere. Also, despite the lack of wins in recent seasons, the building is still drawing large crowds, although I noticed fewer students coming to the games.
I'm not sure if I will renew my ticket for...
Absolutely. Some of the national talking heads didn’t think he should be the starter because he was coming off a knee injury. I’m glad he’s proved them wrong. Also, all Hockey East fans should be proud that all the goalies are from our league. I’ve long felt that the best goaltending comes from...
That's how I feel. I'm not a fan who knows the game well enough to know the X's and O's, but we've been seeing similar results with multiple rosters, and I feel like they got off to the hot start last season because the new players hadn't yet adjusted to that system.
I think this team is the most talented Norm has had in the past few seasons, yet there has been no improvement in scoring. The recruiting pipeline looks grim, and any transfer with scoring ability will likely not produce in this system.
They are averaging 1.5 goals this season at home too. Tonight was my first time seeing them in the 2nd half. I thought they played with good energy and skated well against BU, but they are just offensively inept. I really don’t understand why they score more on the road. It’s like the Tsongas is...
The team that scores first wins most of the time anyway, but once the other team scores first against this Lowell team, you know the game is already over. It’s deflating.
I can understand some of the others, but telling 19 year old Elliot Gulley, averaging more than a PPG in USHL that there’s no room on the roster seems reckless. I guess NIL could be a factor though. He might be exceeding expectations and wants more money.
I would put Cam Ellsworth on the short list too. Not sure if he's still interested in coaching, but he had an incredible record at Norwich (66–14–10), one of the best D3 programs, and he was the primary recruiter during those UML glory days.
I think it's more like the team carried Welsch in the first half. Injured or not, Henry did not deserve much ice time in the 2nd half with an .892 save %. I didn't know he was hurt. I assumed he was not playing due to performance.
No. You must be confusing me with the other poster who mentioned Andre Lee. If you don’t recognize the analogy as it relates to a coach’s past performance, I can’t help you. Lowell is #55 in NPI right now. I hope Norm can turn it around and improve this team, but if they finish the season in the...
