The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
That certainly was direct. I’m not sure I would have worded some of it the same way, but I was going to post a similar message about competing at a D1 level on home ice. This team has to work hard to have a chance at winning against any team , particularly aggressive, well coached ones like...
I get it. I planned to attend our first game in their new barn until I saw it was Halloween. As it is there were about 300 tickets left this morning for Union’s first rivalry game in one of the league’s smallest rinks. Even for Halloween that’s not a good sign.
I've never started one of these. So it may be my fault we've struggled in recent years. It's time to get things moving in the right direction and what better place to do so than our rival's new building. Let's go Red!
We knew this was a building process so I am Just looking for improvements game to game. I only heard the last 4 minutes but it sounded like they were playing with urgency and forced a ranked team to hang on for the win. That’s a step in the right direction.
I hope so because he sounded pretty damn frustrated during the interview between the second and third period last night. I suspect he then lit a fire under the entire team because, although I only saw about 1/2 the third period, they seemed a bit more competitive.
Hopefully it will be even better. The stage pre-dated the era of nets so it was pretty low, presumably to keep the brass and percussion from getting killed. I hope the new setup (I’ve advocated for a mirror image of the west end with an open band platform replacing Shirley’s Palace) will put...
Watching this evening's game it looks like the new building is a nice facility. However, I've rarely seen a new rink that has such an awkward camera position. The main play-by-play cam is at center ice but absurdly high for such a small facility. Is it mounted on top of the press box? When...
Interesting that the defenseman coming in at the left point on that play is also named Gosselin (Alonso). He's an '07 from Montreal so there's probably no relationship, but it would be great to get a monopoly on the Gosselins coming out of the QMJHL.
Well, you jumped the gun a bit as the 2nd half of the game went downhill, so it definitely (hopefully) wasn’t a program defining effort, but it was a good game and a building opportunity. It certainly could have gone either way. The difference was probably something Sezenack has focused on -...
I love RPI, HFH and hockey, but there’s no way on God’s Green Earth that they should be spending $250M on a renovation plan. That sounds like a dream world scenario that will be trimmed back to something more realistic. Of course, if someone wants to be the Tute’s Pegula or Alfond, I’m in.
It's on the same grounds, but it's the anti-casino. Casinos provide cheap and plentiful food and alcohol to keep you in. The arena already has you stuck so they will charge obscene rates. But $9 for a pretzel????
Absolutely. After the first period I was pumped up and ready to start ECAC...
Good article that leads to a question, where should our last assistant come from? At this time of year it’s hard to hire staff so we may have limited choices (quite possible we wait until spring for the right guy), but what background would we like? Based on Coach Lang’s summer interview I’d...
I think I like Lang’s style of play. The BU announcers acted surprised that we have two forwards outside the zone on breakout. It does present a risk, but it also stretches the opposition and creates space for the defenseman to move to open ice and create passing lanes. To often in the past...
