The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
It’s going to be interesting to watch the new commits coming in. I’ve only been following D3 for a few years, but I feel like I already keep seeing more lower level/underclassmen D1 players transferring to D3. Plymouth had it’s first to my knowledge last year and it would be great to keep seeing...
With how the D3 schools are in New Hampshire (and even in general) none are going to make the jump to D1. Would be great for the state to have a NH college tourney but I don’t see any D3 schools going aboard - though maybe could get St. A’s/SNHU (or FPU because sure why not).
There’s definitely...
Yeah I don’t know what the hell the LEC was thinking with this. At least for Plymouth we did a pretty decent job with streaming and have had a great crew of students and staff manning the streams. Very very few alums from any LEC college, areas near each school and students are going to pay for...

No better way to promote D3 hockey and college sports than by…. paywalling broke college students and blocking out casual fans
Saw some talk in a couple of spots about the growing transfer portal list for D3 hockey. Might as well get a thread going 🤷♂️
Stories to watch so far:
- Salve Regina is crumbling in real time with 15+ players entering the portal as conference future is uncertain
- POTY Shane Soderwall of...
What a fall for Salve… wow
Wonder where a lot of these guys will end up going. Salve’s managed to compete against some top-level teams and hold their own, and didn’t even realize they made it to the championship in 2018. Unless they quickly change course Salve is falling into irrelevance, and...
Some of the names on the full D3 portal are out of date but still impressive they managed to have that info. Definitely interesting to see some familiar names from MASCAC and around New England listed.
Seeing via gopherpucklive.com/transfer-portal/ that FIVE Salve players have entered the portal. Includes freshman forward Quinn Tavares who racked up 25 points (10G 15A) this season.
Not sure how they pull their info… but either way very bad sign for the Seahawks. Losing some bench players...
Warning signs for Plymouth and Keene. NH State House looking to make a 30% cut to the University System of NH in the upcoming state budget. There’s been some talk about it over in the UNH thread.

Sounded like Salve burnt some bridges with the CNE on the way out.
Doubt the MASCAC will be willing to take another out-of-state contender after Plymouth’s reign is finally over. That and MASCAC has been changing up their program eligibility guidelines because of football.
LEC could be an...
Looks like a really nice rink but wow that’s definitely on the smaller side for a tournament. Couldn’t imagine how much of a pain it was to get tickets for it (hope everyone here managed). Still should be a really good one to watch online.
Cheers for the suggestions. Think one of my professors suggested Strange Brew so will probably check it out... and maybe do a quick bar crawl on the way to the SNHU.
Wow that’s quick, guess Norwich is already looking to ditch this season behind them.
Interesting to get a look at an LEC schedule for next year. Only 3 out of conference matchups… but also hosting 2 tournaments.
Historically NEC got the best of Plymouth but the tides have turned in recent years. Still whenever they play the refs are in for a long night trying to stop any fights.
I know they were on the brink maybe 15-20 years ago. They’ve held on since and know they put a heavy emphasis sports to make...
Also worth noting Keene gets conference play for the first time. Rivalry hockey with Plymouth will be fun to watch. That and the battle of Rt-9 with NEC just up the road.
And West Connecticut will field a program for the first time with Doug Friedman. He was the director of hockey operations at...
The new LEC is going to be an open race and there’s a lot of story lines heading into next season.
Agree with Prez that it will likely be a 3-way race between Babson, Norwich and Plymouth. All three teams had off an year but are still competitive and strong programs. Have a feeling Norwich will...
Excited for a trip to Manchvegas for the regional. 3 New England schools (with a battle of the Metro West) and a possible championship rematch should be a fun one.
