The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Big home stand lined up for this weekend for UMB. Two goalies to choose from, two tough opponents in USM and Babson. USM will be looking to keep the hold 1st place while Babson is looking to rebound after losing Saturday.
Been a minute again, but a lot of action in 2026 so far. Main shakeup to watch after the tournaments is that we might have a 4-way race in the conference. After starting the new year with a pair of losses to tough NESCAC opponents, USM is sitting top of the conference. Still a lot of games left...
Hartley picked up his first goal off a close range wrister last night. Already getting fit into the lines and should be a great pickup as the season goes on.
Salve almost comes out of Tampa with a major tournament upset. Beats Tufts 5-2 for a key win to advance to face Geneseo. Salve led by one with 10 minutes to play before Geneseo scored two for the comeback win. If the NPI is already updated on the site, Salve now sits in 4th nationally.
Over in Massachusetts, the lowly MASCAC wraps up the first half of the season with the new power struggle between Anna Maria and Fitchburg underway. There's not a lot besides the conference AQ bid and bragging rights to play for, but teams don't let the low conference NPI ruin the fun.
Current...
With a program at the D3 level as historic as Oswego definitely see how that would be a big loss. At the very least, it's cool the school managed to revitalize the space and keep it in use instead of tearing it all down.
Was mainly poking fun at the suggestion that low lying conferences (MASCAC, MAC, etc) should be excluded from an AQ bid. That and if a school like Curry ends up missing out on a CNE AQ and an at-large bid, they can just jump ship to the easiest conference imaginable 🤷♂️ (but seriously Curry...
Managed to make it to Northeastern's game against Brown a couple weeks back. So much history in Matthews and such a huge loss for the hockey world and city of Boston. I know the building is in need of replacing and plans for the new arena include features like the iconic archway, but still won't...
With the final games of the fall over, we have some good results to compare to the pre-season expectations for the LEC. While it's still early, there's still a clear top 3 and some movement towards the middle of the pack.
Current rankings:
1. Plymouth State (5-1-0 LEC, 7-4-0 overall)
2. Babson...
I could've worded it a bit better. Zubin summed it up well, but having a chunk of the schedule against D2 opponents (even though most of their opponents are low in the NPI) is inflating their ranking with the D2 games not counting. With the chaos they had in the offseason, I doubt they took a...
17-2 on the scoresheet over the last 2 games and won 7 of the last 8… I’m feeling good. Hamilton is going to be rough after new years but even a 1 point/ENG loss would be a fair result in my book.
It’s still only the inaugural season but I’m also liking what I see for the LEC. Might take a few...
Been a minute, but Salve pulled off a major upset against #14 ranked Bowdoin. A few months ago Salve’s teams looked on the cusp and now they end the fall with a 12-1 record.
DIII Hockey News pointed out they’re sitting in 5th in the NPI and have an added boost to their results with D2 teams...
Plymouth’s hopes to recover their season hinge on closing out with a W vs Anna Maria. Last year Plymouth shut them out at home to clinch their 8th MASCAC season title. Before that, the AmCats beat them 3 meetings in a row. For a small school with a relatively new program, Anna Maria is a program...
Just checked the stat sheet and wow… Plymouth would rather nail freshmen for alcohol than do anything for conduct so I doubt anything will happen for the players involved (aside NCAA/LEC conduct)
Hale and Steele for Plymouth slugged it out on the ice and then were asking for the Salem players...
More to say in the LEC thread, but Plymouth and Salem had an ugly reunion last night in an 8-1 blowout. Salem started strong and held a 1-0 lead at the end of the 1st with Plymouth playing clunky and getting outshot. That point on… pucks and fists fly. Seen well over 50+ games at Hannaway and...
Did anyone else see the shootout block call for Hamilton in Middlebury? Refs butchered the goal call with Midd ending up on the losing end of the shootout. Still a tie on their record but absolutely terrible officiating to end the game.
Cheers!
USM has outperformed which has been cool to see. The familiarity with teams lile Babson and Norwich, mixed with an easier schedule is putting them in a good spot to compete. Obviously hoping Plymouth will get Ws against them, but it should be a tough fight.
Unless Plymouth comes up...
Dartmouth is looking solid so far, but not a ton of non-ECAC matchups. Beating Cornell and Colgate at home gives them some great results, but they still have away trips against both, two games against Quinnipiac and Union, and some other big matchups to be played.
Also wondering what happened...
