The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Was over there a couple weeks ago for their playoff matchup vs SLU and it’s such a unique rink for games. Feels old school and gritty with a lot of history. That and would be a good distance between a lot of the northern New England/New York powerhouse schools. Any NESCAC-SUYNYAC-CNE matchups...
If that’s the case for revenue, then maybe less of an incentive for a D1 campus to host but would still help out D3 schools not bear additional cost of hosting. Then again, PSU has only hosted one tournament game to my knowledge so who would I be to know.
RIT would be a cool host site. SHU’s...
It definitely makes sense, and I’m hoping they continue to cement that shift to neutral sites.
We all wish our respective teams/schools had Utica’s situation with a nationally recognized team based out of a facility like the Aud… but that’s just not feasible for anybody. Feel like it is common...
Just trying to understand as someone more new to D3 world.
I get the logic behind wanting to give schools the opportunity to host a national tournament, considering the publicity and revenue boost. At the same time though I’m confused as to why the NCAA goes back and forth between neutral and...
Congrats on the big series win over Union. Visited from DIII world for the first round game against SLU and enjoyed checking out the Thompson. Great history in the building and hoping Dartmouth does well vs Clarkson.
Couldn’t be more excited for the LEC to kick off next year. Number of existing rivalries will carry over while some historical ECAC Northeast (and older) matchups will be renewed. West Conn will have a new program, Keene will get conference play, Norwich and Babson will matchup against Plymouth…...
This is going to be a fun tournament to follow. Wish Curry and UNE wasn’t a possible QF matchup but that should be a slugfest. Potential for Aurora vs Geneseo and Utica vs St Norbert matchup in the QF will bring out the fireworks.
Assuming Utica takes down Fitchburg they’ll finally get a...
Talking to myself here but Plymouth hockey doesn’t end the season trophy-less after the women’s team wins their first championship! Plymouth and Rivier nearly break the week old record for longest D3 women’s game in history after 4 OTs. No AQ available for the fledgling MASCAC Women’s Hockey...
The 6-19-2 MCLA Trailblazers are getting votes in the polls for the first time in program history (unless someone has pre-2003 poll numbers sitting around)
USCHO gives MCLA a whopping 1 point
D3 Hockey News showed up buzzing and gave 4 points
Someone’s betting the house for tonight
I don’t hate the AQ but it’s definitely absurd that we’re seeing Fitchburg/MCLA, Gustavus, Eau Claire in this year (ignoring the teams they’ve beat to make it in). Still if a team is able to win their conference championship then fair play for the tourney. But also agree with Russell that...
Can’t help but root a bit for MCLA… even after they beat Plymouth. Would be an insane run for such a low ranked school and would be such a boost to the MCLA community and North Adams.
That and the hatred for Fitchburg hockey still runs a bit deep (even tho half as many students go to games now...
Close run up to the tournament, drama filled playoffs, and now…. #4 Fitchburg State hosts #8 MCLA for the MASCAC Championship.
Perennial runner-ups Fitchburg State makes it to the championship for a 2nd year in a row, hoping for their first title since 2011. Newcomers MCLA are looking to upset...
Just trying to understand it, but are you saying it’s better just to do away with AQ entirely? Or should conferences give AQ to the best overall record/most points at the end of the season?
