The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
There was a play specifically that stands out speed wise, I forget if it was Renwick or Freel chasing a puck back into their own end and the PSU guy caught them and gapped them as if they were standing still.
I can see Boija benefitting from another year in college. Don’t see Holt going anywhere. As for the transfers, could see Lesakowski, Arnott, and/or Carney hitting the portal.
The worst things I can think of that Barr openly said via press conference or the like is when he’d say that guys were struggling. Don’t think it was ever by name but the lineup and ice time was probably ultimately reflective of those comments.
The lack of raw talent can work if there is consistency. If there is anything that the second half showed us it’s that down the stretch this team lack consistency and it was ultimately their demise.
Seems like Maine came out thinking they were going to push them around and be physical which resulted in penalty trouble and Penn really wasn’t phased by the attempted physicality, they instead killed us with their speed and precision in transition. Had it not been for Boija, the score could...
Money will always be the name of the game. Made a comment in the FB group the other day to a thread laughing at UNH. It wasn’t so long ago that Maine was in the same boat, trying to decide whether or not to move on from a coach, fighting funding issues, facility upgrades etc. We are lucky to...
Watching all the regional games this year I thought to myself wasn’t seeing anything that was particularly “scary” that would give Maine fits until last night. Penn St. played the fastest game of anyone in the tournament by a wide margin. They were smooth out of the zone and up the ice, tape to...
This was the same performance we’ve seen a handful of times in the second half. Coach has stressed all year that with this group everyone has to be on or else the results are not good. The margin for error is razor thin. Said it again last night in the press conference.
Long time lurker here since probably before the fire Whitehead days, been a Maine Hockey fan since I was a kid in the 90s. Spent 4 years at UMaine from 2008-2012 during the Whitehead/Gendron years of mediocrity where I think i was more excited about attending Maine to be able to go to hockey...
