Hockey East feels like only 2-3 bids this year. Maine's games vs. Lindenwood (#23 NPI) and Denver (#6 NPI) will be taking on more importance in the grand scheme of things.
Women's soccer with a great win over Vermont for the AE Championship......Maine football with a big game vs. URI on Saturday in Orono.....2 upcoming games at Alfond vs. Vermont.....exciting times for Black Bear fans!
The thing that gives me hope is how they came back and answered BU multiple times last weekend. To me that was the biggest positive development. The goaltending is still a question mark though.
I think that the jump was due more to BU being overrated (and still are IMO) than the voters respecting Maine. I like Maine feeling a bit of pressure though....if they want to get back to being a perennial contender they are going to have to handle the pressure of being on top.
I think that Maine whiffed a bit on the whole media set-up with this Alfond renovation. In this day and age it makes a lot of sense to upgrade your media facilities since every game is now streamed and literally available to everyone that has an ESPN sub. Not sure what upgrades were done if...
