The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Sounds like we should anticipate no Nadeau in the lineup this weekend. He's "week-to-week" currently.
Really wouldn't mind seeing Russell get moved up with Poirier/Scott to get him on the scoresheet. He's tied for 2nd with 10 shots but no points so far.
Wonder if we'll see a similar goalie...
Only spot for him currently would be the third line. I don't think it would hurt his development to line him up with Staal and Martinook (both very good defensive players) and learn from them, but Carolina clearly feels he'll benefit from dominating at the AHL this season (or at least until they...
Kind of hard to get an accurate read on a team when you kneecap an already thin lineup with a pair of ejections and undisciplined play.
They would have been lucky to escape with a win last night, but QU was the better team all weekend.
Certainly not expecting a sweep either way in this series, but will be curious to see how well the new players adapt to the first test on the road. Will make for a good litmus test because if they're sloppy with some of the D-zone turnovers like we saw against HC a quality team like Quinnipiac...
Have to think it'll be at least an 80/20 split in net. Rousseau has the talent to steal a larger share if he can earn it but definitely not sustainable for Boija to own a 95% crease share like he had last season.
Poirier is a monster. 13 shot attempts and 8 SOG, he was possessed. HC had no answer for that line.
All the lines looked really in sync, especially compared to the UNH game and practice on Wed where Barr was balling them out a few times for being "slow and effing sloppy". Clearly that...
The construction crew was still working, cleaning up around the arena. Saw a couple shop-vacs running up in the balcony. Still some odds and ends being done over by the beer garden area. The former main entrance area looked to have some new things up on the walls compared to last week but still...
Langlois fully practiced today. Didn't notice anyone missing. Barr lit into the team a couple times at practice for being a little lethargic and sloppy during drills. They got it together eventually but wonder how much of that will carry over in games if they are trying to make the perfect pass...
They took out a row of chairbacks in OO I believe. I grabbed a trio of three of them.
Also managed to save the old Hockey East Tourney Champs banner before it got tossed out. Looking forward to seeing the new one on Friday night.
Pretty sure I saw he was also at Ducks training camp this offseason as well. He's always been reclusive but nice to see him take part in some of these events in recent years. Hopefully Maine can lure him back sometime.
He came back for his jersey retirement at Maine. He also came back for the HOF banquet for the 93 team in 2017. Got a picture with him and he was kind enough to sign a few cards for me
From what I saw yesterday this team should be in good shape defensively from the jump. The outlet passes from the D were all really crisp and to be honest I was a bit surprised with how well the pairing all looked in sync with each other in the defensive zone drills. Didn't think the PP units...
Sounds like it might have been Scholle. He was in a normal jersey yesterday but wasn't skating as part of any real normal line pairings so might be working his way back into the lineup.
No idea if Langlois has been on the ice at all, I'd guess probably not since he missed all of last season.
Was so nice to be back in the Alfond watching practice this afternoon.
Based on the line combos the top nine feels pretty set:
Poirier | Scott | Nadeau - (Nadeau looked really good, kinda looks like he put in some work with his shot because it looked lethal)
Freel | Lipinski | Marques -...
