The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Looks like both of Howard's NCAA single season records for GAA & SV% will finally fall. Johnny Hicks has enough minutes to qualify and will slightly edge him out in both categories.
Under designations it lists unrestricted which would be a general donation to UMaine athletics as a whole, but you can earmark a donation for men's ice hockey (or any other specific program).
Assuming these $$$ are going where people designate, this a good way to approach fundraising. The...
Woof, this is really not good to hear.
Voronin is a obviously an elite piece to having coming, but having Mistelbacher on the opposite wing would have been a great way to fill out the top six.
If the cost to host an outdoor game wasn't pushing $1M I think any of us would love to see it happen, but can't imagine that would be feasible under any circumstances.
Had a feeling I wouldn't get as lucky as last season ($261 to $270 per seat), but $307 is still better than I anticipated so I'm okay with it.
Doesn't affect me, but I don't really like the 6 seat maximum. If they're that concerned with getting through the wait list they should probably stop...
I have no problem with them running it back, assuming that both Boija and Rousseau get the much needed technical refinements heading into next season.
Boija has to figure out his glove issue (which I did talk about a while back and think could be a simple fix), and Rousseau definitely needs...
Djurasevic was a bit more of a surprise (mostly because of how up-and-down his season was), but as others have said he's older so go chase that pro dream. Nadeau however should not be a surprise at all, given that he had been to a couple dev camps, turned down an offer from MTL last year to come...
Not sure if anyone saw this but former Black Bear Dave MacIsaac suited up for the Danbury Hat Tricks last night. Racked up a cool 27 PIM at the tender age of 53. LINK
I won't hold my breath for a few of those schools, but for anyone curious the last time any of the Big Ten teams have played in Orono:
Notre Dame (2017), Michigan State (2009), Ohio State (2000), Minnesota (1999), Wisconsin (1990).
Penn State and Michigan have never played at Alfond...
This is a very good way to look at it. Maine certainly wasn't the only team that struggled to adapt to acclimating the CHL players to the college game. Neutral Zone had Maine's 2025 class ranked fifth sandwiched between Michigan and Boston College, so anyone trying to say it wasn't a strong...
Hard to say what impact O'Connor has made from a recruiting standpoint yet but it'll be interesting to see if Maine is in on any of the guys from the last couple Mount St. Charles teams that he was part of. I know Pelosi already committed to BC but there are some other big names still...
Barr was pretty direct talking about the issues with team culture throughout the season. If a team is mostly made up of guys looking at Maine as a stepping stone and not buying into the coach/system it seems pretty natural to assume that he likely would do better having a bunch of 2-4 year guys...
If he didn't get an ELC offer after the last couple seasons proving he could be a viable player on his own without his brother, then another year wouldn't have changed that, maybe short of him winning the Hobey.
It's not unexpected that a couple guys would sign pro deals.
I'd be more worried about a potential issue if some players we aren't expecting to leave end up hitting the portal.
I'm a bit surprised Josh didn't play himself into more than a 1 year offer with them (especially after turning that same offer down last season).
Wish him the best either way, the timing feels right for him to leave. Don't like rooting for the Habs but hope he can carve out a nice role with them.
