UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Been a tough season but one of their best performances of the year. Thought a lot of the freshmen played well, especially, marques, lipinski and gerrior. If they played like that all year and I saw the bright spots consistently, I could live with it. However, it’s February and these posts...

Can’t fault the effort tonight, they’re laying it all out there. Muldowney and Tattle have been the difference.

Just when I thought I was out….. they pull me back in

Do you proof read anything you post in here? I’m not even trying to be a jerk but I’m losing brain cells trying to make sense of 99% of what you post. Not sure why anyone would believe it’s unrealistic for Maine to win tonight, they were dominated last night and yet it was still 1-0 late into...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Watching that game you really thought Maine got chances off the cycle and at the net front the way last year’s team did? I can see the argument that Maine lacks sharp shooters but talent wise this team stacks up

I don’t think Barr hasn’t been able to recruit, I think this year should have been viewed as a rebuilding year but given the talent of the players we signed from the CHL, a lot of fans got excited and expectations got carried away (myself included). In addition, my hunch is this isn’t the...

Bigger, faster and stronger than Maine. Really tough loss at home, score wasn’t bad but they were dominated. Really solid UConn team, wouldn’t be surprised to see them win the HE tourney. A lot questions heading into next year, this team can’t grind out wins when they struggle to score.

Deserved better, Albin beat to glove side but honestly thought he played well.

Really solid road game so far. Hopefully I don’t jinx it but BU looks like terrible compared to the last few years. With all that talent I figured they would sort it out by now.

I think Barr has had it with some of the guys in this group. Watching them it seems pretty clear who has bought in / re-bought in, and those who are struggling to adjust. I’d imagine we see a lot of turnover again which I think may be good for Maine. People comment about the lack of skill on...

Crushing loss, Maine was in control for most of that game. PC is the class of HE this year, and Maine will likely be a tough out but this team just doesn’t have the juice.

What a play by Usereau and really solid period for Maine. Still have to clean up the penalties and not take their foot off the gas.

Til the rafters ring has nadeau out with an illness and Fowler out with an upper body injury.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

PC fits the mold of the teams that have been trouble for Maine the past few seasons. Big, heavy, fast and physical, reminded me of Cornell when we saw them a few weeks back. I think Maine will be ready to go so I expect a tight game. Have a strange feeling Maine pulls out a tight game, 2-1 in...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

To me it’s less about this teams record and more about how they’ve looked doing it. They’re 6-2-1 since the UNH sweep on home ice with the losses being to what seems to be a great PC team (they’ve swept Maine BC and BU the past 3 weekends.) However, I don’t think they’ve really looked good in...

Happy for Scott, I’m sure this has been a tough stretch for him. This team is really hard to be a fan of, they go to sleep for long stretches but at times look like world beaters. Overall hard to not be happy with a 5 point weekend. On to Providence

Would you be thrilled after your team squandered a 5 minute major and took 4 penalties all inside of 1 period??? Fortunately Lowell isn’t that good but that’s not a winning recipe.

Solid and much needed win. Penalties have to be addressed but really liked what I saw from James and Peluso. Speculation from commentators about nadeau seemed odd as Demitri said illness. Little irresponsible in my opinion considering that game was on nesn. Focus should be on trying to make...

Agreed, I had some hope after Denver but feel like this weekend was probably the nail in the coffin as far as an at large bid goes. Maybe they get hot and win the HE tourney but nothing I’ve seen tells me that’s a possibility.

Disappointing effort, always feels like they’re about to figure it out and then they lay an egg.
