The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
It was in fact BU. Rob came out for the midday pick up games from time to time. He was an incredibly nice guy zipping it around with the sub-club level players. Even in goalie skates, he was putting us future beer leaguers to shame.
I'm glad he found something at Ohio State, but I wouldn't say he never got a fair shake.
The transfer year is a little jarring to see at this point. Was he the last Maine player to have to sit?
Do y'all have any preference on quarterfinal opponent? It seems like Lowell has backslid a bit, but that's still the #15 team coming in for a single elimination game.
Ben's teams love to get after it on the forecheck. If the preferred look off the rush isn't there, they go to work down low to rush a pass and or force a turnover. That style plays well in the tight games where room is limited.
There's no bad teams in the NCAAs. We have seen this team beat Quinnipiac. But QU may need to win the ECAC tourney to make it.
Side note: Sweeping UVM this weekend clinches the #2 seed.
Maine would have to fall from 4 to 6 or 7 in the Pairwise. If WMU passes us, they would be the third western #1 seed and get kicked east to Allentown, where we would be the #2 seed.
FWIW, a win Friday at UCONN clinches Maine no worse than 3rd in the conference.
Maine needs to win 3 of the remaining 5 to lock in 2nd.
Maine probably needs to win out (with some luck) to win the regular season title.
Saturday's looking to be a great day for hockey with Sweden-Finland, Maine-UNH, then USA-Canada.
I'm having a watch party for USA-Canada so hopefully we can get up a few goals early
We are talking about how to get NCHC teams up to Orono, meanwhile the UNH board is talking about dropping out of Hockey East. It's hard not to enjoy the direction each program is going.
I missed it last week, but Maine recruit Kuzma Voronin was traded from the Youngstown Phantoms to the Fargo Force in exchange for Maine recruit Malachi McKinnon and former Maine recruit Peter Cisar.
That's why keeping the 2 seed is so important. Right now it is the difference between playing Merrimack or Providence in the first round.
I don't think UNH even gets to the quarters
